Average SATs of schools

I've always wondered how you guys thought what your standing was -- because for me, if I see an "average SAT" score of a particular college, I think I need a higher SAT score than the average to get in.

How did you seniors decide which colleges would be matches/safeties/reaches for you? Did you apply to colleges where the average SAT was lower than yours?

Whatever the average SAT score is for a college, add about 50-70 points if you're asian. That's unfair but it's life
