Nice weather past few days, so today I went riding on my 650. I parked it at the Great Mall at Milpitas to run some errands. When I return some 30~ minutes later, but to my surprise my bike was missing. I filed a police report, but they told me the chances of finding the bike is really slim because stolen bikes are broken into parts and shipped to Asia to sell.

Is this true? I worked hard for that bike and it's gone just like that.

Yup...I hate to tell you this but there's a slim chance you'll find it again man. I hope it was insured though.

People are Tom Cruise seriously man. I'll bet $100 that three guys just came out of a van lifted it into the back and left....

2 bikes were stolen from the Great Mall today. My 08 ninja 650 and a 03 zx6r. So fellow riders who lives near that area should chain your bikes.

Most likely it would be parted out and yeah that sucks boba balls especially since it's in the middle of on/off rain and you could have just not ridden that day. Sounds like you have full coverage (?). The Bay Area (like San Diego and Florida) has a big riding community which unfortunately means more bike thefts. I used heavy duty Kryptonite AND OnGuard chains but that was for home storage only. On youtube you'll find these huge chains can still be cut in seconds. If you didn't have a disc lock on it helps to have one. Also put an alarm system if you don't want the hassle of carrying a big chain - these two things would at least deter thieves next time.

Ahhh that sucks to hear man sorry.. I was a fellow rider a few yrs back til I sold mine but I know how u feel. I heard many stories of bikes being stolen and even if you had a good lock on it, having a few strong guys with a truck they can just carry it onto their ride and drive off -.- I hope u had full coverage tho, cuz its highly unlikely you will see ur bike again :/

Malls in general have become hotspots for car theft. Several cars have been stolen at the mall near me.

Finished dealing with the insurance, going to get the check in a week or so. I'm already looking for my next bike, I'm going for a 600cc bike again. But not a ninja...Maybe a R6 or SV650.

the great mall security team is corrupted , they probably alerted the theifs to come and steal your bike, your bike is probably being parted out on eBay or converted to a track bike, economy is mini cooper right now good thing you got insruance.

Yeah for real. I hear of thefts from the Great Mall all the time from every forum I've ever been on. Every time I go to D&B's, I get so paranoid. The only thing that makes me feel a bit assured is the fact that there are many nicer cars out there than mine lol.

I would love to see a comprehensive police report from the malls around the Milpitas area to see how bad the problem really is. Too bad the budget crunch isn't helping with this matter.
