But my friend went to other dermatologist, and her face got worst..
I think that you just need to find the right (and good) dermatologists..
Oddly enough, the dermatologist that my friend went to (the one that made her face worst) got a really high ratings in yelp.. So, I think you need to try and see the dermatologist yourself..
But yeah, in my experience, dermatologist does help

it's like magic, my face is completely clear now and I don't even have to worry about getting my face dirty, which used to cause break outs for me

However, I went to a dermatologist in Japan a few months ago. She looks at my face, says, "It's not that bad," and charges me $75 for some vitamin B6 pills and a tiny tiny tube of dalacin T which did nothing at all.
So it depends on the dermatologist.

I went there for my first time 2 day's ago.
Saw, mad improvement on my face.
All the dermatologist will do, is ask you question's like: what have you been using on your face?, how long did u have ur acne/acne scar for?, if ur a girl they will ask you about your period.
Then, they check your face to see what type of acne u have, and probably they might pick some pimples to pop the puss.
Then, he will recommend you medication's, soap's, cleanser's, or etc.
Right now, i'm using Minocycline pills and Retin-A-Micro. xD

accutane is one of the best pills for acne but whoever wants to use it should definitely talk to a dermatologist really well first especially for girls. It is harmful if you take it too long. if you're in the age of wanting to start a family then stay away from it.
that's from my experience with my dermatologist.

as for recommendations for a derm in your area, you should first check to see what providers are linked with your insurance company/plan.

clindamycin phosphate topical gel
but not to overuse it cuz i 'don't really need it' butit works ! o.o; so maybe u can ask ur doc.
my friend went to a derm. and she said it wasn't worth it.. her derm only told her what to do (which is all the info you can find here on soompi, drink water, dont touch, etc. etc... in 8 ave/brooklyn)

If it is dry, moisten it, if it is moisten - dry it. Congratulations, now you are a dermatologist.
