Honestly he does seem like a player. My friend was in a situation similar to yours and he ended up cheating on his girlfriend to be with her, broke up with the girlfriend to be with her and ended up cheating on my friend. If he's willing to do that to his girlfriend, he's willing to do it to you later. If you really want a relationship beyond friendship with this guy, I'd wait till he breaks up with his girlfriend. It'd be better for her then to break up with him after finding out he was cheating on her. And it'd be better for you.

If he has a girlfriend, then he has definitely crossed the line... and if he ends up breaking up with his girlfriend to be with you... would you really trust that he wouldn't do the same thing to you? I'd say talking for that long is indicative of how he feels, even if you kid around that you guys don't (my boyfriend and i always kids around about not liking each other)

i get that 'how he might seem different to you than to other people', totally get it. and you don't know if you should believe what people say about him, or what you've seen about him. i think he's trying to get you to say something first, so that if he 'confesses', your reaction won't be like 'OMG GASP SHOCK HORROR you aready have a girlfriend!' kind of thing, like he wants to make sure of how you feel first?

imo you should just hint him. if you want to take the risk to be together with him, then you tell him to make a decision about his girlfriend, because it isn't helping the both of them to be in a relationship where one side 'isn't feeling it anymore'. some guys bare their souls to other girls as a way to make them become closer to the girl in a way, like a 'see, i trust you enough to tell you all these', and it kinda makes you guys closer? that's from what i've seen in many cases, but it's just my opinion, so.....

yeah, either way you've to come to a decision too; if you're willing to risk getting hurt by a guy who might just do the same to you. if he keeps it up, try to hint that he already has a girlfriend? best of luck (:
