Would You Be Able To Date/marry... a killer?

i was watching some movie or show the other night and the question suddenly hit me and got me thinking up until 8 in the morning about it.
would you be able to date/marry a person who committed a homicide? or just a plain killer?
i for one, would probably say i can. i know, you're probably thinking i'm crazy, but i'm being honest.
i don't have a specific reason for saying i can, but i just know i can.
a police is able to kill a person because it's their job to protect the community from "dangerous" people,
but doesn't that make them a criminal, too? a swat team is trained to shoot and [kill] if they are given
orders to. a gangster is able to shoot his gun to kill a person for many reasons. my point is that they
all have a gun loaded with bullets. they're still shooting another human being, but why is it that the
gangster/criminal/crazy person gets killed or gets put in jail whereas the swat member or police officer
can say it's their job? the blood is still on their hands (figuratively).
but as for the sake of my topic... the person is not a psycho or have mental problems of any sort.
and the reason is for money. (LOL, kinda in a way like Zeni Geba but not really)

While there are instances of negligence by a police officer, what you're asking is what is the difference between these two subgroups on a general standpoint. So in the most idealistic cases--and most of them are such--the gangster commits a crime while the police officer chooses to take action to protect him or herself.
Now, there are instances where you can say, well a gangster is protecting himself by shooting a rival gang member and also ensuring the safety of his other fellow gangbangers; however, yet again the intention is different: this is a premeditated execution order. To compare this, let us say a SWAT team is ordered to shoot to kill any person holding a gun in a building and they enter stealthily to kill two people that pose no clear and immediate danger. This is premeditated, but in no way does it qualify as an execution. This fails on two levels: first, the SWAT team would not be in place unless there was the threat of an immediate danger to public safety; second, the SWAT team is ordered to shoot to kill because the combatants would do the same given the opportunity--they are acting totally in self defense.
While the blood is on the hands of both groups, it is definitely up to motive and intention that we can attribute to the type of blood on one's hands. In the end, it is the idea of asking yourself one question: is it innocent blood or not?
But in my own humble opinion, to answer your immediate question, I would have to say no. A homicide--by connotation anyways--suggests that the person committing this crime did this in a premeditated fashion with the idea of committing an egregious offense that is unacceptable by social and humane standards. Now, if this was in self-defense, I would forgive and try to forget their past. But you're saying that they committed a homicide and a homicide, patently on its face, is a crime.

They're not suppose to kill them, they're meant to capture the criminals. SWAT, then yea I guess they are trained to kill.
But then again, you just said it yourself, Police is helping other people. While Criminals, they make other people life miserable.
That's the difference.
As for the question, no way. definite no.

If you mean, would I date someone I KNEW was a homicidal maniac... Uh. No? xD
I value my life
Someone who kills for money isn't any better, really. Because, most normal people couldn't do that.
So to some degree, you have to be kinda messed up in the head to bump off people for a living. So no to that, too.

If its a guy that I just met and find that his hands have already been stained, then the most we'll be are acquaintances.

I don't remember who said this but maybe it could be,"Kill one, save a thousand." Mayve it si
Soldiers, soldiers fight for the protection their people, or for glory. They fight for just, or belief. Some fight on the front lines, others in the shadow. They fight, they kill, sometimes, they continue to kill. They go home to see the broken homes they left.
I guess, ill think about this. That is probably one of the most intresting questions I have heard in awhile.
I will repost.

No matter how you look at it.
If you take someone's life away,
you killed them. Hence, you are a murderer.
And it doesn't matter if you
were trying to protect yourself, or others.
//
Anyway, for the question. Yes, I could.
But it comes down to who my bf killed,
and how he killed them.

It would depend on the situation, of course.
But I can't shut out the possibility completely, although I'm sure it would be really stressful to be in a serious relationship with that individual.

Just a plain killer/homicide suspect? NO.
I'd be too paranoid =/
It'd be different if we're together then he kills someone..
but that would depend on the situation/people/etc.

It reminds me of Dexter, that TV show. Where he's a killer but he's working for the police... well, he's more of a CSI-person, but he kills people who have comitted crimes, so isn't that same concept as a police officer? (I said that bluntly, I mean, isn't that the same objective for a police offer when the worst gets to the worse... and plus, most murders either get life so... it's the same idea, sort of)
If a normal person of the public decides to go out and do a police officers job, they'd get prosecuted, took to court and probably end up in a psycho-ward after.
Hmm... someone should make a topic on that.
Anyways, back to the main topic at hand...
It would depend on the circumstances. If it was a killing out of cold blood, hm... I'm not so sure.

If you've committed a crime you think you can BS your way out of, press one.
To report an incident of racial profiling, put down your crack pipe and press two.
If you cannot locate one of your seven, unsupervised, fatherless children, press three.

And how can you compare the police with crimiinals? o_o that is so wrong. Police kill people to protect the citizens, while the criminals are doing it to harm the innocent...that's a major difference there..

But on the issue of if it's a police man or a criminal doing the killing...there is a difference. One is trying to protect society while the other is doing harm. And really, the police is only going to try to capture the criminal. They will kill a criminal if their own life is in danger. That's self protection...if they don't kill the criminal, they will get killed themselves.
And here is another thought, what if someone killed another human being while fighting war for their country. That is another one to think about. Does that justify killing?
