Just wondering how people's lives are once they hit their mid twenties... is still going out partying with friends every friday and saturday night healthy ?? i still do some things that even my 20 y.o sister thinks is sad.... but hey at least i'm enjoying my life.... right ???!

my life is pretty routine - i got a job (boring but it feeds me) then by the end of the week i'm so in need of some release that i go partying friday and sometimes saturday night and then recover sunday for work monday.. i have no intention of settling down (i have had 2 failed relationships and am over it), have not thought of purchasing property (i'm not doing what my parents are nagging me to do) and spend most of my money on rent, going out and travelling....

is anyone out there in their mid twenties leading a similar life or are people out there established with career goals and all set for the future.... ?? please share !!

I'm quite like you. I'm in my mid 20s, I work full time, and I party every weekend with my gf and/or my friends. Difference is, I did most of my travel in my highschool and college years and currently focused on enjoying life, work, settling down with my gf and paying of my mortgage.

I have established my career goals and am certain I can achieve and exceed them in the time frame I've set. I have everything planned from my family, to my career, my travels, and my investments.

But of course, not all things go to plan, so I also have contingency plans.

---

If you have trouble planning your goals, simply jot them down at a high level, and then begin breaking them down into individual parts, so it will give you a better outlook on what needs to be done to achieve that goal/sub goal/etc.

sorry, i was never into the partying thing.
i also didn't have money for it.
so, nope, sorry, no partying going on here.
no "career building" either. just working and paying university loans.
i write an important thing, and do not let's finish. a way of writing for freedom.

Yeah i'm pretty much the same. No partying. For me, it's boring and I don't particularly enjoy being around drunk people.
Some say i'm a genius, others say i'm crazy
but they all say i'm a little on the weird side

I hang out with my friends & bf about 3-4 times a week. In my current state, I'm definitely not ready for anything like settling down, owning a house, etc. Although, sometimes I wish I could be doing more and having more stability & $ ~

At this point in my life, I am just trying to get my life together lol. I am what you may call a lost soul. I don't party now, though I never really did much anyway, but what little partying I did was during my college days. I am trying to save up as much money as possible from odd jobs. What am I saving up for? Just the future in general since I have no clear idea where I am headed. I don't live with my parents, but I live in an apartment they own in a different city than them so I don't actually own property. A lot of my friends are engaged now or have steady boyfriends so it's difficult hanging out with them because their lives are so drastically different from mine it seems and they are always more busy than I. I rarely go out and travel so I save quite a bit of money. My idea of getting some "release" is to just stay home and watch old movies. I like old movies, I was a film major after all. If I do travel, I don't travel too far since I don't want to spend too much money. There's lots of nice places near me. I think of travel in terms of having a good time in a relaxing atmosphere- it's more of a change of scenery. I think people think too far and exotic when they think of traveling and ignore the nice places near them. It's too extravagant, especially if you go to far off places every year like some people I know. I come from a super frugal family and we always save up for the unexpected and we've never been in debt or had any late payments. A late payment is a sin in our family lol. We're quite serious with our money which is why we never had financial troubles. So that's one thing we can relax about.

It's okay to party once in a while, but it is quite costly going out a lot. I always have my eye on the future and am constantly keeping money in check. I don't need to party to have a good time. I think of it as a nice treat I have once in a while rather than turn it into a weekly habit. It's more fun that way so you can catch up and it adds more variety in your life in terms of entertainment rather than doing the same thing every weekend.
At the end of the evening she is tired and wants to go home.
But the Red Shoes are not tired.
In fact, the Red Shoes are never tired...

I'm quite the opposite. I partied hard in hs, settled down and worked my ass off in college, and now I work my ass off at work. The payoff? I can take vacations instead of wasting all my money partying on the weekends smile.gif

In my mid 20s, I find myself going out less often. I only meet with friends to catch up.

I also feel more tired also. haha Guess I've reached a point where my life is sloowwwly sucking away at my youthful energy.

Where did it all go?

I go through valleys and peaks. When I'm in party mode - I'm out every weekend, when I'm in hermit mode - I sleep A LOT.

Lately I've been in Hermit mode but have been living party mode life. I've booked myself so solid for months that until the ski season is over - I can't hibernate.
