Hello there everyone.
My friend and I had to do an assignment on the pros n cons of United Nations in terms of its relevancy and effectiveness especially in this 21st century.
It'd be appreciated if u guys can contribute your opinion and it doesn't matter if you're a law student or not. We just wanna gather as much information we want, since it is an open topic anyways.
Some may think the United Nation has done a great job in dealing with problems and disputes of countries around the world and some may not. We would like to know your reasonings on this matter.
And if you guys have great ideas on how we can present this witout putting people to sleep, it'd be much appreciated.

What have you got so far?
It's easier for us to help you get a better mark etc. if we know where you're headed first, then we can add stuff to it, or take stuff away, or help you shift towards a newer and better direction.
UN is such a big topic... and talking about its effectiveness can cover... crap loads.
Paper/Course background would help as well.

well, tbh im x really sure what scope it should cover as u said, it's wide right?
so this is the plan at the moment.
We will discuss firstly on the function and it's role, etc.
from there, we'll go about on it's strength (the law, the foundation and power).
From the strength and function, we'll relate it to the success i.e the implementation and enforcement.
How it dealt with wars example the Cold Wars, in terms of human rights eg Cosovo, settling disputes, transaction issues etc.
I guess the real problem for me at least is on how I can relate all the stuff above to the current issues
and thus show having UN is still relevant now or maybe we should have a new mechanical to deal with the issues of the world citizen.
My tutor said I can discuss on the 4 veto powers for the relevancy. but how should I go about it?

Any suggestion on how to narrow the scope down? or maybe which subject I should focus on?
I'm taking for UN while my friend is going against it, which is simpler than me I think cuz UN has a lot to be criticized on, heh.
