So I was cutting salad with a scissors and I must have slipped somehow and the scissors ended up cutting the skin off my finger. I haven't bled this much in years tears.gif
I couldn't findthe skin that fell off so I just used a bandaid to help stop the bleed, but it was bleeding so much I had to change 3 bandaids.

The injured finger now have a noticeable concave-ish to it where the skin used to be. crazy.gif That part won't grow back right? is there anything I can do to help it heal well so it won't leave a scar or that concave look to my finger? Any cream? Ointment? Balm?

Thanks a lot!

Edit: I just chabged my bandaid again and noticed a little of the meat is missing also tears.gif it won't grow back right? sad.gif(
After 4 hours, and still bleeding as if it's a fresh wound. crazy.gif

your skin will grow back. Just make sure you keep it clean.

if it was really concave looking and you weren't exaggerating, you shoulda went to see a doctor.

My papa did something like that a while back, it will grow back =) considering how I see no dip in his fingers.
Mmmm I don't think he did anything to it... But it stopped bleeding so that you can see the dip.. However I have no clue how he got it to stop bleeding.. Sorry can't help you there...

Hope it heals quickly!

That's not good if it's still bleeding after 4 hours. Stop putting bandaids on, grab a napkin, and put pressure on the wound to try and get it to clot. Bandaids aren't very good for stopping deep cuts from bleeding, they act more as a barrier to keep bacteria out. Also, if that doesn't work, look for "butterfly bandages." They are like little clips that pinch deep cuts closed. Make sure you clean it as well so it doesn't get infected, but you should really stop the bleeding first.

My dad has cut himself on cans multiple times, sometimes all the way to the muscle, so this is just the procedure he goes through. I haven't seen any noticeable scars on his hands either, so I think you're safe.

it depends how much you cut off.. it if was a chunk.. the skin will grow back but you finger might have a lilttle deformation, it won't go back to the save roundess if you cut off a big chunk..

I agree with this post...

I did cut off a chunk of my lip before. Lol. I don't have a hole in it now so it must have grown back. Hahah.

stop using bandaids.
use dressings and tie them in place.
or use small pressure bandages.

when i cut myself badly, i pinch the meat/skin/whatever together.
and hold it like that for a long while.
but not pinching enough to turn purple.
