i have huge issues with my thighs, especially inner thighs, and arms..bicep/triceps area. my legs were ok, but just till recent years, since the start of my freshman year i guess? they seem to have gone bigger! and its not just water weight/swollen. i guess this is what they call freshman 15 ): (youre supposda gain 15 pounds in the beginning of your university years)

are there some products or exercise that i can do to tone and slim those parts? i'm not really an out door/exercise type, so itll be great if theyre not that hard to do, or too tiring and time consuming. but beggars cant be choosers right? so i'm up for anything :]

thanks

yeah same problem here.

i heard that once you try to slim down one area, you have to do cardio but that slims down everything proportionately
and that you cant slim down just one area.

thats what i heard from many places.

lets see what others say.

run run! haha running slims and tones down everything.
and no, you do not get muscular legs from running if you do jogging for long periods of time.
i've had the same problem as you (my inner thighs were crazy.gif ) but after i've started running it's toned down a lot.
i run a lot during lacrosse, but i try to run at least 20min/2miles a day, no matter how busy i am. so that's not too time consuming..

squats/lunges also help thighs a lot.
or do that thing where you take a pillow/squishy ball and put it between your legs when you sit. then you squeeze your legs together and hold.
for arms: pushups? we do a bunch during conditioning and my arms feel like they're going to fall off.. but i guess that's a semi-good thing tongue.gif

yeh thats what i'm worried about running...and same with the squats, cause my friends that are into sports do all of them and their thighs are like O_O|||....
and about the pushups....theyre not really that great to help tone down the arms since it only works out the biceps, and also for girls, its more prone for them to have broader shoulders. i've taken karate once for a few years in the past...ad we had to do SOOOO many pushups and such. and my shoulders are like ridiculously larger compared to most girls ):

hah no, thunder thighs come from sprinters.. they train they quads so they have sprinting power.

Ever see the long distance runners? they're slim. You do need cardio, but you also neeg leg toning exercises, i know at my gym they have machines that tone your glutes.. as well as a machine where you sit and they work ur inner things to tone them.

I'm sure if you don't go to a gym there's workouts online that you can do just at home and such.

"THUNDER THIGHS" are a fat girls thighs that are so humoungous, big & fat that they clap together when they walk. This produces a loud noise which goes like "SLAP, SLAP, SLAP" , hence the "thunder" part of the word.

You obviously have not been keeping up-to-date with modern american slang - see urban dictionary for more information.

you can't do spot-reduction.
do a lot of cardio: elliptical (both arms, butt & thighs), run/walk/fast-walk on threadmill, stairmaster for at least an hour each day to burn off the fat.

I strongly recommend jumprope for legs. Do it daily if you're frankly concerned about your weight, but if not, do it atleast 4 times a week. You'll definitely see some change after a while but don't overdo it or you'll end up getting huge muscles. You can also do biking, lunges, leg ups for a light workout. Or if you want something quick and tight, go to youtube and type "8 minute leg". It's tiring but a favourited workout throughout years.

i always wondered why they were called thunder thighs. i though it was because the thighs were so big, each step made a loud noise like thunder.
huhhhh i didnt know cause the thighs slap together.

He is just trying to say, its almost impossible to build up strong muscles if all you do is jog. People get worried about over doing certain things and build muscles....

nope. no spot-reduction. sooooo... just exercise your whole body and it'll all trim down. and if you don't want lots of muscle, do plenty of cardio (as this person said) because that's what gets your body burning fat =\ if you don't want to develop super muscles... don't work out those muscles like that. don't do weight training/etc. regular exercise isn't going to make you all ripped ._. common sense..

also remember to stretch!
after exercising your muscles expand and if you don't stretch them i think your legs get bigger instead of smaller like you want them to :)
