i'm really curious. i know a lot of kids who weigh like around 180-190pounds (male of course) but they're not fat. how did they gain so much weight without getting fat? most of them i know play football. but i don't play any sports. they're about as "thin" as me but i don't understand how they weigh so much more compared to me. i only weigh like 135, pretty thin. no one wants to be fat of course, but i'd be happy as hell if i could reach my weight to at least around 170 without getting fat. how can i achieve that? on the other hand, there are nasty fat kids who weigh around 180-190 as well too, but i just wanna know how to reach that weight without being a fat ass.

muscle weights more than fat. since they play football, i assume they developed a ton of muscle from running and basically tackling or avoiding to be tackled in football. guys can develop muscles pretty easily if you use the correct combination with diet and exercise. since i m not a guy, i cant tell you how but i m sure someone else can.

5 lbs of fat vs 5 lbs of muscle

5 lbs of fat takes more room than 5 lbs of muscle
so for example
2 people have the body weight that's nearly the same.
One is very lazy, never exercise. So he has high body fat
The other one is very active, he plays sports. So he has lower body fat than the lazy one.
So the active one has a skinnier body than the lazy one eventhough they weigh the same.

Well done
clean diet and lift some weights in order to gain muscle mass or look "good" without getting fat.

^ Exactly what the others have said.
How tall are you exactly? 135 lbs to 170 is big difference you're going to have to eat A LOT while maintaining an active lifestyle. Jogging is going to be key in burning water weight and fat and you'll want to build muscle mass.
Right now I'm standing 6'1 and weight 190 lbs. I'm pretty athletic so I have a good build.
