I weigh like 100-105lbs, I reallllllly want to donate blood. The requirement is 110 lbs, do you think it'll be that big of a difference? I'm also on my period, should I eat steak? (:
I can't do it some other time cause it's a school thing and it's a one day event.

Umm.. If you're around 103, I don't think that they would let you donate. My friend is around that weight and she was unable to. I think they'd only let you donate if you were 108 or near 110. Are you sure there aren't any other places you can donate blood? If you keep an ear out, there should be some blood drives around you. I have a 'BloodSource' near where I live.

How old were you - First time I was 16. That was last year. And I donated just this month. Still 16, haha.
How much did you weigh&& your height - I was around 118 and 5'0.
How did you feel during - Normal. Make sure you drink many fluids and eat before you do it. I saw a girl throw up and a guy faint before.
How did you feel after - The same. Except when I got home after my first donation, I was kind of tired so I slept for a bit.

I didn't donate blood throughout highschool because
1. I was always underweight
2. I'm deathly afraid of needles
They won't let you do it unless you're 110lbs or over. It's for your own safety.

Some say i'm a genius, others say i'm crazy
but they all say i'm a little on the weird side

LOL, i wish i could lend you a few pounds.
How old were you - 16
How much did you weigh&& your height - let's just say i was over 110.
How did you feel during - i was nervous. when i first saw the needle, it was hella thick. but i didn't hurt that much. except i was the last student, the nurses wanted to go home, my blood took so long to fill the bag, so the lady kept moving the needle around! ):
How did you feel after - i wanted to go home and rest. i couldn't move my arm for an hour or two.
and it's okay if you can't donate this time, there's going to be numerous more in the future.
or unless you wanna risk your health or something, then whatever,go for it?

I've wanted to give blood since i turned 16 (and that's 4 years ago) but been rejected everywhere.
1. underweight - they have weight restrictions for your own good and because they don't have smaller size blood bags (my sister phoned up to ask xD)
2. when i was in hk, they refused my blood cos i lived in uk
My sister's friend gave blood even though she was underweight (she tied weights to her ankles) and she was sick for a LONG time and rather unhealthy since

I was rejected too. NOt because I weigh less than 110... it's because I have a low hemoglobin.
My hgb result was: 11.7
It should be 12-14.

yeah i would suggest against it. when i donated blood i was juuuust barely over 110 so they let me @_@ i was dizzy and felt sick and weak after.
How old were you - err 16 i think? (im 19 now >_<)
How much did you weigh&& your height - 111 at 5'0" feet
How did you feel during - fine. just didnt want to look at the gigantic needle in my arm lol
How did you feel after - see above @_@ my arm hurt for a while too.
but now i weigh like 102-106 depending on the day so there's no way i'm going to risk it o_o

I help run the blood-drives at my school.. so I have somewhat an experience.
Since you`re under 110lbs, it`s under the requirement. Most likely, they`ll defer you. I`m not sure if you can lie through it, but I do know that they ask you how much you weigh while they ask you all these other questions and test you for your iron level before they decide whether or not you can donate or not.
It`s best for you not to donate because you are under 110lbs. I`ve seen many people that are just barely over the weight minimum and they`ve fainted or close to fainting during / after the donation. The thing is that you do not want to faint during the time you are still donating. Something about the blood clotting or something.. I forgot. My friend that also works at the blood-drives with me, donated.. She`s over 110, but she also fainted (mainly cause she didn`t get enough sleep the day of). So I highly suggest that you don`t donate, just for the sake of yourself. :|
