Well I got NHL 06 finally and I am loving it. I wish they had NHL 96 instead of NHL 94 in the game system.

Thinking about getting Madden 2006 or just wait til 2007 comes out.

I will soon get the online stuff for ps2 and challenge others smile.gif

how about you guys and girls.

I've been thinking of getting a PS 2 so I can play Madden 06 online, but with Madden 07 coming out in the summer, I'm thinking of holding off. Besides, I can probably pick up an X-Box 360 or hold off a little longer for a PS 3 and get Madden 07 for whichever system I get.

The football game I really want, more so than Madden, is NCAA Football. I'm eager to see a next-gen version of the game. Now that EA has Madden up for the 360, I would expect them to use the Madden engine to make NCAA 07 for the 360. I'm hoping to see a PS 3 version as well, but I get the feeling EA will bring out Madden first like they've done for the 360, and the last-generation of consoles.

NHL 94 is the best EA NHL game. Except for the port they put out on the ps2. What garbage, feels sloppier and no nhlpa representation. As for 06 and 2k, it's a toss up. A mix of both would be perfect but I'd have to go w/2k [even w/some of the glitches.] 06 feels more arcadey than sim.

As for football games, I'm annoyed that EA pretty much took over everything, so no more 2k games which were great. Madden still feels a bit iffy in certain aspects of gameplay. Still easy to find money plays that exploit the AI and real ppl.

No comment on NBA Live. That's still a POS "simulation." 2k series > Live easily.

I'm thinking about picking up Fight Night Round 2 for the PS2. Any opinions on the game?

firelogic, FN2 is as good as a boxing game as you'll get since you don't have any options really. But ease of parrying almost ruins the game, but it's good.

Thanks, I just need a change of pace from the action and rpg titles I've been playing recently.

NHL06 is that good eh? Maybe I'll try it out for PC.

Speaking of football, I haven't played since Fifa 99! I was so obsessed with that game too.

It's all about Wii Sports now. laugh.gif
I'm still trying to bowl a 300 game, but the best I can do is 220. =[

I loved the Fifa games back on PS1. The AI was so dumb that I could always take Baggio and his old scrawny legs and beard and school any international club team, coast to coast. tongue.gif
Ah, those were the days.

But Winning Eleven is pretty sweet too. I hope they have that for the Wii one day with like leg strap controllers or something!
