i'm majoring in international business and currently a minor in economics.
my advisor told me today that i already have the required courses to fulfill in getting a cognate in economics which is 12 or more hours compared to 18 or more for the minor.
if i do want the minor, i would have to take a summer course and an extra course for fall semester.
but are there any pros/cons between the two besides the credit hours? will employees really care more if one has a minor rather than a cognate?
