i don't really believe in these crazy trendy "diets" because although they might be help you lose weight during the duration of the diet, you end up gaining more weight since it's hard to maintain that weight loss. anyways, my aunt gained a few pounds due to stress and what not, and she also had really bad constipation so she decided to go on this so called "danish diet" she heard about from her friends. she didn't expect much going into the diet but she ended up losing 14 pounds, and her son (my cousin, who is kinda chubby) lost 30 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!! and my mom's currently doing this diet, and so far, she's lost 8 pounds. and it's only day 6!!
"This diet lasts for 13 days and is tough but efficient. The aim is to change your metabolism which means that after day 13, you can eat normally again without increase weight the next 2 years. It is not a traditional fasting cure. It works even after you finished the diet. If you painstakingly follow the diet you will lose all excess fat, 7 to 20kg. The diet must be followed exactly, so if you during the diet drink a beer, a glass of wine or eat extra food, chewing gum etc, the cure is lost and so is the result. If you do stop it, you can not start again for the next 6 months. It is recommended not to do this more often than once every 2 years. It required quite a bit of planning and to make sure to avoid dinner invitation during these 2 weeks."

It's also trying to use coffee/caffeine as a thermogen. What's so special about it?
This is just extremely low in calories and not healthy. There is no such thing as a miracle diet.
*Note this will probably make your constipation worse as there is a lack of nutrients/minerals.
Your bowel movements = regulated by fibre + vitamins/minerals + water intake.
Also making your metabolism faster than it is = pretty much impossible. Metabolism is a genetic thing.
It can only go so fast from person to person.

the only way to effectively faster the metabolism in the long term is to get your body moving - whether it's exercise or just more physical activity.

once you go back to your regular diet, you'll gain all the weight back in a matter for a couple weeks or months. lose weight the healthy way.
if my opinion, people who go on these crash diets are just too lazy to get off their butt and make a real effort to lose weight.

I totally agree. And losing 15-40lbs in such a short period of time is extremely unhealthy

And do you get to drink water?
But yeah, losing that much weight so quickly is not good.

The point is, a fad diet is stupid not because afterwards you gain it back. It's because it's unhealthy and also doesn't DO what it says it does.
If you gain it back on not, depends on how you eat afterwards. If you lose a lot or a little, depends on how much you stand to lose, and how your metabolism is. An obese person can lose 25 pounds in a week, if they make a drastic change of diet and exercise. But a person with a normal weight, would NEVER lose that amount. It's impossible.
calories in, calories out. The ONLY rule of dieting.
You're not going to lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks, unless you burn 3500 calories X 15 OVER your daily food needs.
This diet's principle is simply Atkins plus coffee. Better read the Atkins book and follow that, instead of this. Also, it's BAD Atkins at that. For proper shedding of FAT you need to limit your sugar % to 20 grams or less per day. So no fruit, and bread unless you want to wreck the diet
