so, i was born in the phils and i just recently moved here to the usa about 2-3 years ago.
ive had boyfriends before while i was in the phils, but since i moved to the usa, im kinda confused as to how the dating
system here works(sort of lol)
ive had guys here hitting on me occasionally but i just really turn them down cause i dont know how to act and stuff since this is
a diff country from what im used to and i wasnt fully adjusted yet but after 3 years ive decided that it's time to start dating and stuff

so my question is~ what the difference between 'going out' and 'dating'?
if someone asks you to go out with them, does that mean ur gonna be on a date? or just hanging out? and i dont get when people say "yeah, we're going out" does that mean they are boyfriend and girlfriend?
how do u guys go from just 'hanging out' to becoming a couple?
when u are a couple, should u be really attached to them at once or gradually?
who pays on the first date? lol

any stories of ur first relationships or anything similar to my situation would be helpfull too happy.gif

Okay if a guy asked you out then that means bf-gf, unless he's asking you out to dinner which should be clear! If he just say "wanna go out" that mean bf-gf

if it's a hangout that means he wants to get to know you a bit better before making any moves

generally if a guy likes you he'll pay on the first second and etc etc dates but you should suggest to pay half since you don't wanna look like a goldigger

you get from hangout to go out.........you get to know the person and if you like them you'll hang out more often and then he'll ask you out

communication is the key to anything!

actually, in the US i can say that dating and going out means the same ; basically it comes down to this : you become the guys girlfriend if you say yes. thats US wise i mean.

I don't live in the US, but where I live, it's pretty similar, and what you're saying is kind of wrong...

Hanging out is just 'hanging' with sb, it's not a date, could be platonic. Not every guy you hang with alone is trying to get to know you better before putting on the moves, they're just hanging with you.

When sb asks you out, you're going on a date with them. You're dating them and there's no obligation until you make it official.
If it's still the 'going out' phase...you can go out with several ppl, ie date em at the same time and it's fine, not considered cheating (will be if you become an official couple)

Just cos you go out with em doesn't automatically mean youre a couple '_', that has to be voiced out and stated, otherwise it's non exclusive still.

so what I mean is you can go with sb for a month, and you could still be considered not an item, and not bf/gf if he/she doesn't state it clearly...
That's why lots of guys make it ambiguous...cos then they can date several ppl at once haha.

Hope that helps.
