From Emmy Award-winning executive producers Greg Daniels (NBC's "The Office," "King of the Hill") and Michael Schur (NBC's "The Office," "Saturday Night Live") comes a new mockumentary that looks at the exciting world of local government. The new half-hour comedy will examine the mundane but necessary ways that people interact with their government, and ask why it's frequently so complicated -- as everyone knows from standing in line at the DMV, applying for home construction permits, or trying to get the city to fix a pothole.

The documentary cameras follow Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler, NBC's "Saturday Night Live," "Baby Mama") a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana. In an attempt to beautify her town -- and advance her career -- Leslie takes on what should be a fairly simple project: help local nurse Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones, NBC's "The Office," "Unhitched") turn an abandoned construction pit into a community park. Opposing them are defensive bureaucrats, selfish neighbors, real estate developers, and single-issue fanatics -- whose weapons are lawsuits, the jumble of city codes, and the very democratic process that Leslie loves so much.

Oh man I hate how they spread out office in between this so I had to watch! I almost missed it!!

I thought it was okay. The relationship with the guy is cute. I don't see how they will keep this plot going though. Seems like it will get repetitive.

i thought the first episode was ok....i was hoping rashida jones would play the same character as in the office so that ppl could guest star back and forth between the two shows

I thought the first ep was ok. The line deliver for Amy Poehler's character is pretty much the same as Michael Scott only for a female. The show itself pretty much felt like The Office just with different actors and setting. When it went back to showing The Office it only proved to me that the mockumentary stuff can only work for so many shows. I'll continue watching the show though to see how it'll progress.

The trailer made the show look like it was funny! I do like the office so if i watch this i might like it! I do like Amy i think she's funny!

I thought it was rather good for a pilot. It's certainly not the best, but it's a pilot and it's best to wait and see for a few more episodes. Some good shows start off rather weak, but gets better as it progresses. It definitely has potential, even if some aspects are eerily similar to The Office. I like the cast's good rapport. Amy Poehler is solid as Leslie Knope and Rashida Jones is also good.

The second episode has proven to me that I'll start liking the show. It came off way better than the first. I felt bad for Leslie during the public forum but it makes me wonder what's gonna happen once the park is made.
