Anyway.. yeah.. the KASA I go to used to be all about drinking and partying, but they've changed recently, so now they do cultural stuff too. ^^

That's what I heard too. I'm at UCI, and someone once told me that a "nickname" for them is like... Korean Association of Smoking and Alcohol... or something like that haha...

It's Korean Alcoholics and Smokers Anonymous
If you think that's all KASA is, that's fine; but if you never come out then you'll never realize that it's a lot more than that. People I made friends with freshman year through KASA are still my really close friends now. A couple of people I met through KASA are people that I would trust with anything. So it's up to you, but you're missing out if you base your choice on whether or not to go on rumors that you hear from other people.

There's a sports tournament, and a bunch of clubbing events through Chongdae; we go to events for KA day and Saigu... And there are events every two weeks like bowling, barbecues, etc. The best part is the big/little program where nonstaff gets paired up with staff and you form families.
Annnddd of course there's the trip to Mammoth which is SO much fun.
I feel really awkward posting about my real life on Soompi, haha...

do all freshmen have to participate in the danceoff?
Nope, it's completely optional, but they'll try to convince you
It's reallllyyyyy great. All the freshmen become really close with each other and the heads that help out with it. It's a really, really rewarding experience and Irvine's the best at it

i've actually shown up a couple times and just left because they just all started talking about where to go drinking.

Did you try talking to anybody?
I'm not saying we don't drink, but a lot of people seem to think we're a bunch of dumb kids who just get trashed every day. It's annoying.

Awww, well I didn't do dance off my freshman year either, but you should still come out to the actual dance off event! It's fun to watch everyone perform
