I'm not in KASA but a lotttt of my friends are in UCI's. They love it, especially the dance-off they have at the beginning of the year. It's a good experience (:

I'm in KASA, but.. not the one in UCSD. T_T Mine is all the way on the East coast. O_o

Anyway.. yeah.. the KASA I go to used to be all about drinking and partying, but they've changed recently, so now they do cultural stuff too. ^^

That's what I heard too. I'm at UCI, and someone once told me that a "nickname" for them is like... Korean Association of Smoking and Alcohol... or something like that haha...

I am studying abroad in Korea for 2 semesters!
Read about it here (WordPress) or here (Tumblr).

same reason why i didn't join the KSA here at USC... it's just a social club for drinking/smoking.

If you think that's all KASA is, that's fine; but if you never come out then you'll never realize that it's a lot more than that. People I made friends with freshman year through KASA are still my really close friends now. A couple of people I met through KASA are people that I would trust with anything. So it's up to you, but you're missing out if you base your choice on whether or not to go on rumors that you hear from other people.

Well, like people mentioned earlier, we have dance off, which is an amaaaazing experience for freshmen (and for the rest of us older people who stay up til sunrise watching practice, buy the freshmen food, and then cry like babies when they perform at the dance off event, haha).

There's a sports tournament, and a bunch of clubbing events through Chongdae; we go to events for KA day and Saigu... And there are events every two weeks like bowling, barbecues, etc. The best part is the big/little program where nonstaff gets paired up with staff and you form families.

Annnddd of course there's the trip to Mammoth which is SO much fun.

I feel really awkward posting about my real life on Soompi, haha...

Nope, it's completely optional, but they'll try to convince you smile.gif
It's reallllyyyyy great. All the freshmen become really close with each other and the heads that help out with it. It's a really, really rewarding experience and Irvine's the best at it smile.gif

Did you try talking to anybody?

I'm not saying we don't drink, but a lot of people seem to think we're a bunch of dumb kids who just get trashed every day. It's annoying.
