sort of like sat i/ii prep books, what are some good/"known to be the best" preparation books for the ap us history and ap chem exam? i mean, i know kaplan, princeton review, barrons, etc. are all the most common companies and that there's not huge difference amongst them, but from personal experience/word of mouth, what is the single most effective company/book to prepare you for the apush/chem tests?
Too lazy to make another sig. Ill get to it..maybe.

hmm...none of the chem books really helped me much (i'm not a chem person T.T) so i can't provide any insight on that

but from my experience on APUSH,
REA (research and education association) had the best APUSH prep for me

it followed exactly what my teacher was teaching (in order..mostly) and it really helped that the practice test questions prepared me for my tests in class...

also..be careful with princeton review for chem....
my book had a couple of typos in it (for equations) ^^

good luck!

AMSCO for APUSH
for sure.

It has EVERYTHING.

-You can learn how to make a damn good essay
-learn how to incorporate documents in your argument
-it has multiple choice questions after every unit
-it has a final mc test that mocks the Ap exam
-GOOD NOTES.

fo'shizzle dizzle

and also + perhaps consider taking SAT II US History in May/June, and study for that with Kaplan -- then you'll have great general knowledge for APs too.

I also say AMSCO for APUSH/SAT2 USH. If you read AMSCO a couple times through, and maybe flip through a shorter review book like Kaplan or something for the SAT2, you should have no problem on the subject test or the AP test.

For AP Chem, use Princeton Review. For the SAT 2 Chem, any review book is fine. SAT 2 Chem is MUCH easier than AP Chem, so if you have AP Chem PR cold, SAT 2 should be no problem as long as you briefly review from a SAT 2 book.

REA for APUSH! I think the summaries are especially nice because they're like telling a story, not so boring. Except, they're kind of in-depth, so not so good for last minute cramming, but for the AP, it'll be great (:

Chem, I have Kaplan, and it's okay. 5 steps to a 5 helps a lot. Mostly, just do problems and things will fall into place.

5 steps to a 5!!! (barron)

Also there are some REALLY good sites online with some notes and quizzes. I remember I used them to study for my APUSH test and I got a 4. ^^

Ahh, that's the one I have. Thanks for the heads up ^^ Was it really helpful despite the typos?
I want to get a 5 on the test, but if PR isn't that good I want to switch to a different book >.<
