I guess I'll stop clubbing when I reach my early 30s. I'm 23 right now.
I'll probably look back on this post when I'm 40 and laugh.

if you're over 21- and you notice that everyone around you is at least 10 years younger and get tired by 1, it's time for you to move on.
& for girls- its time to stop when no guy comes to you and asks if you want a drink or dance
my friends and i always mess around with the old guy when we go out and make fun of him :[
i feel bad for him, but 40 year old men shouldn't be hanging around college town bars and clubs trying to pick up girls

LOL that's so funny. Yeah. . .I agree with annebonny, I see girls in their late twenties clubbing and guys to their mid thirties still clubbing too. I think at a certain point in your life. . .you get tired of paying $20 for parking, waiting in line, dealing with promoters and paying $$$ for drinks (though if you're a girl, usually the male bartenders will give you a nice discount). . .but I don't know if there should be any type of age discrimination for club goers. I think it's up to the individual to come to that self realization that they are too "old" for clubs!!
I think lounges and bars appeal more to the "older" crowd. Right now, I'm grandma and I just stay at home. I only go clubbing occasionally when a single gf of mine wants to go out and go dancing

I guess the "too old" age is around 30 for guys? But if you've been going two-three times a week for a few years.. you'll burn out and get bored of it anyways. Then it might be worthwhile to settle down.
It must be harder for gals to go in late 20s, though. I mean, if you're 28, and getting hit on by 18 boys, that's kinda weird, isn't it?..
Cougars are totally in now.
As for the clubbing... I almost felt too young in the crowds I saw during my brief week in NYC. And yes, I'm 20+
