Something is wrong with my SD memory card and I need help. I also try switching the little side thingie but it is not working. And I also try a new SD memory card but the camera still say "locked". Now, I don't know what to do. I cannot refund the camera because I bought it from online(amazon). This camera is new and at first I got it, it is good and there was no problem. But now, whenever I try to take a picture, it says "card locked"...seriously, I don't know what is wrong. Is it the SD memory card or the camera itself. Any help is greatly appreciate. please help.

Have you tried another card?
Do you have a card reader? Like a USB one, one on your computer, or laptop? Maybe you can just format it there. See if you can read/write
You should definitely check if you still have warranty with Canon, the internal switch might be damaged. (There is a switch where the lock tab is)
IF you don't have warranty, see if http://chdk.wikia.com/ is an option for you.

There's a small switch on the SD Card itself to enable write protection. try switching it and see if the problem persists.
Overwhelmed by work, studies and computers.

Is the camera on lock mode?
Maybe the SD card is incompatible? I don't know what SD card you have but, my Canon camera (bought it 2 years ago) doesn't work with SDHC memory cards.

Sometimes if you buy - lets say a 4gb and it doesn't work on your camera, it may be because
it can't handle that big of a memory card. thats what happened to my camera.
