Yes, definitely.
Just running half an hour on the treadmill a couple nights of the week allowed me to drop 1.5 pounds in a week ... four pounds in a month should be cake !
Just start a simple exercise routine; it doesn't have to be necessarily demanding. Pay attention to your junk food intake, keep it controlled. As an added bonus, regular exercise makes you feel better all around !

Just don't eat junk food, run for 30 mins each day, do 100 sit ups, etc, etc :]

Just eat healthy and in moderation, along with cardio/exercise.
Good luck.

No, you didn't lose weight. At least you didn't lose FAT. You lost water weight.

You probably did not lose close to 5lb. If you did, most of it is water weight. Assuming you swam for 1 hour non stop at your fastest possible, you weigh 190 lb, and you swam for 5 days, you would have burned close to 4300 calories, which equates to about 1.3 lb of weight loss. If you changed your diet and ate 500 calories less for 7 days, you would have burned 1lb. Total weight you could lose is 2.3 lb and this assumes you swim for 1 hour nonstop at your fastest.

i have lost 10 pounds in 25 days.
drink lots of water, eat lots of raw, unrefined foods such as nuts, fruits, vegetable
lowering your calorie intake is the most important part and sticking to this restrictive diet
and definitely lift weights 2-3 times a week and exercise (cardio) 20-30 minutes daily
stay physically active and move around as much as you can.

I too have heard that, but all you have to do is measure your weight in the morning right after going to the bathroom. And it really depends on your body. My weight barely fluctuates; it goes up or down a pound at the most.
But yeah, basically everyone's said the right thing xD Eating healthy and exercising (:
Good luck! :0 And try to do different exercises. For a while I was running/jogging and wasn't losing any weight. Then I decided to walk and bike around my neighborhood and started shedding off the pounds x)

if you're doing it right you should lose 1-2lb's a WEEK not a day.
eat 5 small meals everyday to keep the metabolism up
fruits veggies anything that is obviously healthier than junk food and boil in the bag ramen.
i don't know if i should keep going; i know how frustrating it can be to not see quick results; but it just doesn't work like that (i think)
i'll tell you one thing though - DON'T STARVE YOURSELF

No, you didn't lose 6 pounds, at least you didn't lose the same kind of weight that the OP wants to lose, which is FAT. Chances are that it's water weight that you lost. In order to lose that much weight as FAT, you literally have to eat 1k calories less than what you normally eat for three weeks (I'll give you three weeks instead of just 18 days). For a normal person to reduce their daily intake by 1k calories without doing any exercising, you pretty much have to live each day surviving off half a days worth of food.
