Lately I've been hanging out with this guy and I'm falling for him.
But a few friends started to tell him that he's a weirdo and that he has a bad reputation.
So I asked them what was wrong, what were the rumors about him... yet no one was able to come up with something really that terrible that would make me change my mind about him. Some said he's a flirt while others said he's just too quiet, that something must be wrong with him and other pointless stuff...
Honestly, he's always been treating me very nice, offering me gifts for no reasons and cooking for me everytime I visited his place. He recently told me he liked me...but I can't help it but think about what my friends have said...

Should I my friends or my guts?

They are your friends, of course they're just looking out for you! But yes, it is YOUR decision after all so do whatever your heart tells you. Since they are your friends, they will still be there for you even if that guy turns out to be the "weirdo" that they warned you about, right?

Eh, think about it - if you knew about some guy and heard all sorts of things about him, and your friend was falling head over heels for this dangerous fellow, wouldn't you want to protect your friend from him?

then just follow your gut instincts..

Personally..I love my friends and I respect their opinions so much! But..I've always been the girl that no matter what other people said, I would listen to my heart. I will definitely listen to what they have to say..but that's only one side of the story. I'd rather go with my guts and get hurt and learn from my mistakes than to go against my heart and wonder what might have been. That's just my opinion. I hope it helped

if they have something soild to say that would prove there's something wrong with him or with you guys dating, then believe your friends. but there isnt a real reason so just take a chance and date the guy! if something comes up later...thats a different issue

If they know for a fact that something is shady about the guy, then I guess you should listen to their insight.
Or if you honestly believe what they say and rely on them 100%, trust your friends.

Otherwise you have some kind of right to defend him as well, since he's the one that you like.
I mean, they're not the type who would hate you for liking this guy right?

Just trust yourself and don't be pressured to "not" like someone just because people tell you not to.

i usually listen to my guts, its ALWAYS right!

i know your friends want the best for you and stuff, but its ultimately your decision
and whatever consequences it comes with it, you deal with it.

It's your choice, like others have said. But, don't feel bad or discouraged IF your friends' suggestions were true, like "I told you so". Just stand up straight and tell them "I enjoyed the moments with him while it lasted"

I actually learned my lesson the hard waywhen it came to this at the end of last year.
It's my fault now that i think of it, but then i didn't listen to my friends when they told me not to go for this guy. I didn't think he was THAT bad until after we hung out for a while. He left a bad impression on all of my friends and they told me to be careful of him (I know why now).

I trust my friends more than my gut because of how i am. Honestly, my friends know me way too well...i guess that's why they're my close friends lol

Anyway, as for you, just go with what your heart tells you. But i would say trust your friends. That's just me though.
