Okay so what I'm hearing so far is that principal photography is currently underway and that either they started shooting a few scenes in Russia already or were just there for location scouting.



The above picture of Scarlett Johannson was recently taken at a London party called Moet and Chandon: A Tribute to Cinema and she looks mighty fine and very much looks the part of Black Widow. What I understand (cause I'm not a comic book aficionado) Black Widow is Russian as well so I'm hoping Scarlett doesn't make the accent terribly fake (like Cate Blanchett in Indy 4). Same goes for Rourke.

When Jon Favreau described the first day of principal photography on Iron Man 2 as “It’s like we picked up where we left off” he wasn’t kidding. IESB has learned that the scene that was shot is a continuation of the final scene of the first Iron Man film, where Tony Stark reveals to the world that “I Am Iron Man.” We can only assume that the new scene opens the sequel.

I still can't believe Don Cheadle is replacing Terrence Howard. So different looking (unlike when Katie Holmes was replaced with Maggie Gyllenhaal for Batman/Dark Knight). xD
A better choice (to keep similar looks) would be someone like Will Smith... but he's probably too expensive or uninterested. >_>
Well, at least Cheadle is an excellent actor... ^^

Favreau tells [USA Today] that the sequel will play with the ideas of “how many superheroes are open about their true identities?” Favreau says, “It obviously has consequences — in his relationships, on the team. There are a lot of areas we can explore.”

The first official studio release picture from Iron Man 2 as well as a small indication of what's to come for the sequel.

Either "on the team" could just mean Stark's company OR possibly The Avengers. I'd like to think it's the latter but it most likely isn't. Haha.

From what I heard, when they shot "Iron Man" Terrence was the actor who was paid the most since he was the actor with the biggest name attached to the film. After "Iron Man" became a huge success some of the other actors got pay raises and Terrence asked for a pay raise as well but instead they told him that they're going to give him a pay cut since he was not the reason why the movie was such a big success. They couldn't come to agreement over how much Terrence was to be paid so the producers replaced him.

Aw man, I really wanted Terence Howard in the movie. Can't wait to see Nick Fury and Black Widow.

Iron Man 2 shot on location at Randy's Donuts in Inglewood recently and here's two pictures from the shoot.





That of course is RDJ partly in the Iron Man suit and sitting in the donut. Judging from the set picture, it would seem alterations are being made to the suit to make it look more stronger than it's predecessor. According to screenrant.com

The gauntlets are much beefier on top of his hands, there are some gold highlights in the rib cage area and the chest piece looks redesigned as well. Looks like the tricep area is beefed up along with the shoulders, too, giving the impression (to me, anyway) of a more powerful armor.

In a recent interview for EmpireOnline.com, Iron Man director, Jon Favreau had kinda confirmed the presence of War Machine in the next Iron Man movie. I say kinda because it sounds like he let the cat out of the bag but could just be messing with us. Sounds like he isn't kidding though so...

And what of Stark’s friend and confidant Jim Rhodes? Favreau hinted that Rhodes, now played by Don Cheadle, will be tooling up big-time when he dons his own armoured suit as War Machine. “Rhodesy is definitely stepping up in this film. Let me put it this way: Tony’s not the only person with technology in the film.”

Mickey Rourke was also interviewed by Empire in regards to hsi role as Iron Man's villain, Whiplash.

“I’m having the time of my life!” he enthused about joining the Iron Man franchise. “It’s been really brutal, because my Iron Man suit weighs 23lb. It’s sort of a half-suit, with half my skin showing, with lots of Russian tattoos, because [Whiplash is just] out of a Russian-zone prison.”

They're tryna incorporate little elements of Crimson Dynamo (the character that Rourke was originally believed to be playing) into the movie's Whiplash character so that they can connect him to Scarlett Johansson character, Black Widow.

I reckon it'd be pretty cool. I find that Jackson really just commands the screen whenever he's in anything. Take Jackie Brown for example; he even overshadowed Robert De Niro in that. Sam Jackson + Quentin Tarintino = Awesomeness.
