So I'm planning to appeal to another class because my timetable for my current class is really bad (like it ends really late and starts really early... and the breaks in between are like 3 hours...). So what reasons can I give? I can't think of any... I don't think they will accept if I tell them the reason is because the time table is ridiculous T_T

Please help me! Hopefully this is placed in the correct section smile.gif

Honesty is the best policy!

Once i wanted to change my subject from Geography to History. I just told them that i didn't enjoy geo, and i wanted to do history. So they said they would decide on it and at the end i was able to change subject.

Also i realize that having good relation with teacher's help. My sister was famous for being kind and friendly in her yr, so everyone like's her and get's along with her. She was also voted as the most kindest person out of the yr in her yr book.
So i wanted to do Information Technology, but i couldn't because the classes were full. And i kept asking that teacher please let me change. But he wouldn't let me. Then my sister just went up to him while he was having lunch with her friend and said, my sister want's to do I.T. And he was like, she is your sister? ... Okay she can do IT. She has persuasivness power.

Well, someone I know just kept continuously annoying the counselor until she finally gave in and let her change classes.

But obcourse, normally our counselor is VERY scary, so you're lucky if your counselor even remotely considers letting you change classes sweatingbullets.gif lol
And if I can recall, she lied about everything =__= so honesty doesn't always grant you a better position.. haha.

All I can say is: connections & an overall good personality might let the counselors approve changing your classes.

But really, it just depends on who the counselor is >__>; And most likely, you'll have to get on their good side.

Are you in college or high school? (Cause in college it probably doesn't work to just persistently bother the roster office or teacher?) But I'm guessing you're in college if you have like a 3 hour break...

Just write a formal appeal presenting your reasons why you want to change schedules. (Look up online the proper format for writing an appeal) Why does it inconvenience you to have classes that start very early in the morning and end late in the afternoon? You can't say it's simply because you don't like it; think of some reasons why. tongue.gif For instance, if you had a part time job that starts at 4:30PM, you wouldn't want your last class to end at 4:25PM, and that would be a reason. Or perhaps you say that you aren't interested in some of the classes that are in your schedule and you want to switch because you're interested in pursuing a different subject for your career. You know? xD

It also doesn't hurt if you sort of know the person you're submitting the appeal letter to. They might give you some leniency if they like you. laugh.gif Lastly, make sure you are straight to the point in stating clearly why you want to change your schedule; don't beat around the bush or use too much informal language or you won't be taken seriously.

I've written appeals a couple times and so far they've worked. (But then again I sort of knew the teachers for some of them haha.)

Honestly, I don't really think they will change your schedule if you said "the timetable sucks T_T". Changing subjects/classes is a different matter because it is a matter of interest and what you are interested in learning about, so it works to say I want to change classes because I don't have an interest in the one I'm in now. Changing your timetable is a matter of how it inconveniences your time, so you need to be able to explain how it inconveniences you. Just sit and think about it, you'll think of something. :]
