Anyone? Care to share?
As for me, I'm still gainfully employed. Thank god.

I remember a topic similar to this already titled something like "Is the recession affecting you" Well to answer your question yes and no. It's not affecting me personally but it seems to be affecting everyone else that I know. My parents are unemployed, my sister's business is doing worse than usual, etc.

I have not been able to find a part-time job for months. To make things worse, I have a ton of student loan debt. Dear Messiah Obama, "savior of the world," please save us all and "spread the wealth."

I'm actually spending more than normal. In fact, I just got back from a hockey game. I refuse to let the economy get to me, and it really helps when it's next-to-impossible for me to get fire.
I won't bother since I won't read the rules and they won't accommodate.

Its best if you make the best out of the current recession.

I can assure you that its going to get much much worse.

Working harder is all.

It's actually getting really hard to negotiate contracts because every company is now desperate for work and you constantly get calls for offers and such.

This summer... 56 internship applications sent out. 3.48GPA, four student groups, three major service project / organization committees, major scholarship, letters of recommendation, the whole nine yards.

I received two responses. One saying they canceled their internship program for the short term, the other saying the internship program was under review. Really sucks.

Right now, I'm unemployed, uninsured, and I have to start paying off student loans.

Can it get any worse?
Cheers!!!

I've been blessed to still be employed and still have not had to let anyone in my clinic go. If I do let them go, it would be because they messed up. In fact, I might have to hire one more person in the next 2-3 mos. Maybe.

Not really, I was offered a summer internship at a bank...so I'm thankful for that. But there has been a huge decrease of internships and co-ops compared to last year's listings.

Sort of, my dad was recently laid off :/

Besides that though, I've been pretty sheltered from the recession. I was fortunate enough to have landed a job a few months ago and the job security is great. I hope that things will keep up but who really knows? My parents are having it tough so most of my paycheck's been going to them (and probably will continue to).

I just saved a ton of money on my wardrobe by switching to white tees!

But no, seriously.. I'm pretty sure everyone's been affected.

In the vein of bad news, NJ is about to levy higher taxes, taking this from the worst state to live in in the US to.. hmm.. yeah.

somewhat small, but i was annoyed that my interest income took a huge dive this year. 2007 rates were literally 5%. now you're lucky if you could find something around 2.4%

I see that the web development industry hasn't been affected much by the recession lol.

One of the recruiters of some IT staffing firm (3rd party recruiter) once told me that even though we are in recession, the web technology industry will still be in very high demands. Whether this is true or not, I don't really know. But lately I been getting many offers on freelance web development role and none non-freelance but perm job.

The recession sucks for finding a part time job. I'm just hoping that the economy doesn't get worse. I don't start full time until October and I would hate to have my offer rescinded!
