Most graduate's don't even get the job of their degree. Some ended up being a waitor, waitress, working in retails..
It's nice to have a degree, but not alway's nessasarily.
My friend got a first class on Law and she went to this good law school. But she hasn't even got a job as a lawyer. Especially in this credit crunch crisis... it's not easy to find a job.
Ur mind might be filled with a particular subject, but personality is what make's the deal! If u have both, great!

because i think that you don't necessarily need to be inherently smart to get an adequate education ; people just need to apply themselves and have focus to get into and through college.
so yea, education is pretty important to me ; a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

being in America is all about the degree, your salary is assessed by what level of education you have (for most industries).

imo, it depends on why they're uneducated. if they're potheads and and didn't care about their futures, i really wouldn't want to be friends with them. if they were having economical issues and couldn't afford to go to college, well that's a totally different story.
and i also agree with chopstick^^
a gift to that person, a beautiful thing."

i mean some of them chose not to go that way, and they end up sucessful and doing what they love.
i admire people who follow their dreams..
but if its those kinds of people who stay and home and be lazy,'cause they don't want to learn anything.
then all i have to say is.." that's so sad"

So I treat them like any human being. It's not like I talk to them differently or dumb things down or anything.

erm, i dnt know how the US is like compare to UK... after high-school (16 yr's old) u can go to college and then university (18).
Or u can just go from high school to college and that's it! Rarely u can go from high school to university.

However, for those who can't afford it, and don't have the luxuries of education, I definitely cannot look down on them. The only people I look on are those drop outs who have nothing to do in life except live with what the government gives them. If you've left highschool in order to pursue an apprenticeship that's also fine, as long as you're doing something with your life, I probably wouldn't frown against it.
