Ah, I get what you mean. Because then I'd think that they're just being polite and etc. (Especially from friends and relatives.)

I used to care and made a big deal when people give me compliment, but slowly, I'm more like: "Meh..! I don't care anymore. A compliment is still a compliment to me!"

I guess that I am much more confident right now than I used to be as well.

Also. when you hear it all the time, you kinda get desensitized to it all, I know I do ....

But overall, I just say thank you, give a smile, and go about my business.

i say thanks and brush it off. i dont know if i believe it or not but i def. know that it's not important to me b/c there's so many attractive girls out there. the greatest compliment a person can pay me would be my intelligence/creativity.

I don't believe it either, most of the time, if you think you're pretty, then that means YOU ARE. But if you don't you aren't.

when people call me cute/pretty, i accept the compliment and thank them, but i don't believe them at all. i just think they're being nice, especially since most of the time it's coming from friends or family. :/

I get complimented by drunk people a lot O_o who knows why, the saying is "in vinum veritas" but I'm not sure if I can trust their judgment.
And quite a lot when I go to Asia... sometimes by complete strangers who aren't trying to sell me anything, so then I believe them. Being pale and tall paid off for once! haha

I thank them and return their compliment when I find them pretty, or else I just go on with my business.
But I don't believe it at all, plus, they don't say it a lot (except my cousin but she's just trying to convince me).

It depends. Some people are really obvious that they're faking it, some people are better at faking it, and some are really genuine. I just reply with a "I know, thanks" and then continue on my way.

I don't believe it. A lot of my friends just call everyone pretty, as long as their nice. And as soon as they walk away, they would take back their word, so it kind of shows me how they'd think. o-o I don't think anyone really means what they say with compliments anymore, it's just common courtesy.

If I just saw myself in the mirror a short while before, I believe them. Otherwise, I don't.
I guess sometimes I believe, other times I don't.
I don't like people to say that, especially those weird men on the street who greet you with "Hello, beautiful," or even worse, whisper at you while they pass by. It's annoying. Beauty isn't everything. There are plenty of beautiful people in the world anyway, it's not like it's a rare virtue or something. And you're born with it, you don't do anything to get it except eat and grow. It's not an achievement.

Uhh...I don't think I'm ugly. I dunno about being pretty though~Even though I get it from strangers & online a lot (like with my 411). With some pics it's because of the lighting. & flash on cameras makes me look UHHHHHH ---high or something.But most of the time I just accept but think nothing of it. A compliment is a compliment right? But even though it's not like guys are begging to go out with me, I actually catch some guys checking me out quite a bit (very AWKWARD) & with guys that don't no me from school or something check me out a lot. So apparently I'm not hideous.. I know older guys and chicks (like 17+) tell me I'm really cute. I also get more compliments if I wearing something girly-which is not often since I am a total hardcore tomboy.

when people compliment me, i just say thank you and shrugg.
i'm just not confident when it comes to my appearance.
when my boyfriend makes a comment on how pretty i am .. i just tell him
he's lying, and says it because im his girlfriend.

as hippiehop mentioned, it's easier to believe someone who
says something negative.
