Hello to whoever loves cookies. Like most people on here, I came from an Asian family that would rather die than entering the cutlery of the American culture, therefore I was always on my own: pies/steaks/spaghetti/etc. Since I was little, I always have a thing for cookies, I first began exploring how to make my own cookies when I was in 4th grade, no grandmothers, sighs.
It started out with those instant dough you'd popped into the oven then the instant mix that required eggs and butter. After I matured, I began moving onto the path of starting from scratch. And until then, I have approximately 7 burn scars on my right arm from the oven rack.
I've finally achieve the perfect cookies recently and I just want to share. For the love of cookies. I'll shut up now ;].::::::::::::::::::::
^^There are really no secret to soft cookies. Just use your ingredients wisely.The characteristic of brown sugar is to preserve and store the moisture.
Recipe; 1 cup of butter (2 sticks)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/4 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar(packed down )<--- thee secret to soft cookies (moisture moisture) ^^
2 and 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour (normal flour)
1 package {3.4 oz} of instant pudding mix (vanilla or any flavor)<--- thee secret to soft cookies ^^
2 cups of chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk-choco,dark-choco,mint-choco.)
Optional: (2/3 cup of chopped walnuts. <---my fav. after macadamias : )
Or any nuts you like.
Instructions;Leave the butter out hours prior for it to soften.
Preheat your oven to 350. (Ain't that number overrated? lmao)
In a bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, and vanilla until they cream together.
Then add the eggs and pudding powder.
When you can tell that the mixture is blended enough, pour in the flour + baking soda.
Beat it with a wooden spoon until you can see the dough forming, pour in the chocolate chips and mix/squeeze/do whatever to scatter 'em in the dough.
Roll a ball of cookie dough into your hands at the size of the average milk cap, roll it into a ball-shape then flatten it down to about 2 cm thick.
[Or you can spoon the the dough onto the sheet instead.]
Each tray should have about 9-12 cookies, bake in the oven for 9-13 minutes. Then you're done. The bottoms of the cookies should be super light brown. You'd have about 2.5 dozens or depending on the size of the cookies.
Cold Milk or hot tea should be good. Yumm!
{Seriously, good luck guys.
Do not get burn like me. ***Watch out for them evil oven racks.}
-natalie :]
{I think I made some grammar/spelling whoopsie, but oh-well, Cookies are better than literature.
Right guys? Right right! Lmao}
