Get up from your seat and drive to Barnes and Noble. There you will find a Barron's Guide to AP U.S. Government and Politics. Buy it. Then you're all set. It is the best book for this subject. I used it as my only source of information (besides learning from the class) and I got a four. Getting a five is harder and you have to study harder than just the Barrons book, but yeah it helps a lot.

i took the ap gov test last year
i spent a week going through princeton review's ap gov book and kinda skimmed/kinda read barron's
i liked PR's better because it was more concise whereas it seemed like there was a lot of unnecessary information in barron's
you should check out collegeboard for sample free response questions
good luck =]

MoNkEyMoNkEy: It depends on your teacher so I can't really tell you if its hard or not. If you took APUSH it's almost like a review of that class. You do learn about government and politics, but it's really not new material unless you have no idea how that stuff works or know very little of it. I think it's easy. I take AP Gov and AP Econ together in my first hour so we switch off every week or two and I've gotten mid to high B's without trying haha.
Oh and we had a quiz over reading we were supposed to do in our text book and I got an 8/11 on the quiz just from prior knowledge and guessing skills. I didn't read at all and had no idea what the quiz was on until I took it. It was multiple choice...but still haha.

Agreed, but it definitely helps if you have a strong interest in politics (half of our class isn't taking the AP Exam, for example; my teacher's an all-right AP gov teacher, but he isn't charismatic-sounding, so almost 1/4 of the class falls asleep because most people aren't interested in politics).
