swimming at different intensities might help as well, like 200 max then 100 easy, etc...

Agree with the first thing. Second thing, you just killed your body. I know what I'm talking about, btw. You want to do something like 4x100 easy, 5x100 95%, 4x100, easy, 5x100 max. Never start with max...
In the end, swimming makes you lean (i have a thread of me somewhere, thats swimmers body in case you don't know). If you want to become more than that, do some outside stuff...

You only throw up if you're not hydrating yourself.

It's a great exercise though.
What if you're a female, swam all your life, and have that kind of body?
...Is that wrong? I think a swimmer's body can look real good for many (Like water polo people).
I think those female swimmers are hot.
If you want muscle, I suggest 30-40 minutes or so weight training, running, or land work (sit ups, push ups, and so on) before entering the water.
And if you swim like 1 and a half hours...your body should change.

you should switch the routines and such.
laps and speed are preferred.
make sure to eat plenty of bananas to prevent cramping up
you should do butterfly, great for six pack, since you're doing dolphin kick and broad shoulders.

You gotta be kidding me. No a girl is not going to become butch from swimming.
athletic female bodies are so much better than a little unhealthy pale twig girl anyways.

all the guys i know (even like 10 y.o) who swim seriously have 6 packs
and the girls are mostly skinny but have muscle, so less fat...
most swimmers have a dryland program so they dont do just swimming and they are good at other sports too...

visible abs are the result of lowered body fat percent, not your type of exercise.

I used to swim about two years every weekend, and it helped me get a toned body
Swimming works most of the muscles in your body, so it's a really good sport ^^
Try to do IMs :]

If you're self-motivated and are able to do laps continuously, I'd go with swimming.
I swam for competitively for a lot of years, and it works out your whole body at the same time (unless you're using fins/paddles). Swimming with a team helps though with a coach to make you work harder with their workout. Most people have a competitive side to them too haha; it's how we get better :]
& if you have a weak stomach and are gonna work out, i'd suggest eating at least half an hour to an hour before swimming, or eating something like apples. Be sure to drink enough water too!
