I wanna contribute some to the Soompi car club! My car isn't as glamorous, showy, or shiny as most of yours but it is 19 years old. I love spending a weekend digging into it and pulling things apart in there, so this is my blood and sweat. This car is quick too, I really love it..

This was a little under a year ago, completely stock car.

Since then, I've torn out the old exhaust, put in a 3" one, ported the stock turbo and turbo manifold, installed a heavier clutch and just these past couple weeks I got some good work done. I bought some 1050cc injectors, along with nylon Russell Pro Classic fuel lines from the tank to the rail, and an inline fuel filter with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This thing will never be thirsty AGAIN!! I love these injectors....

Then I got a little bit more cash to spend, and bought myself a nice big intercooler.

And then my hands got itchy again so I went and found a bigger turbo. The one on the left is my current stock turbo, the one on the right will be in soon!

And just today, I bit the bullet and bought some coilovers. We'll see how they handle, I'm excited to get these bad boys on too! WOO exciting!

Let me know what you guys think, I haven't taken many more pictures of the car yet, but I really should.

It sure is!!

The second gear synchro is grinding now though... so a transmission rebuild in the future.

I'd love to make it out to MOD, but over 1k miles in a DSM?? Haha no wai!

The holset turbo might be going in this weekend, depending on how I feels, I'll keep you all posted!

Haha.. Its funny looking at my car and your car it has similar mods thought I have a crap load more. (sbr fmic, injectors, turbo)

Get some 272 bump sticks, kiggley beehive springs and you'll be good to go. I only went 10.8@125 at 35lbs on my car and felt it could of went more but just left it at that.

10.8, what a guru. I have a ways to go, my transmission is grinding into second whenever I drive too fast or downshift, so I can't launch it without shearing all the teeth off the gear.

The turbo hasn't gone in yet, I'm having fun with the 14b, it's a blast! biggrin.gif
272's and beehives are in my future! It's on a stock longblock right now, so they'd be overkill now. I was looking into FFWD and their stroker, and boy... those are pricey, but VERY enticing. I have a feeling in the next year or two, I'll be helping the economy by dumping over 6 grand into one of those motors.

Anyway, wanna post up your mod list? I'd like to see what it takes to run 10's..

It doesnt really take much to run 10s its all mostly driver skill. As for my mod list here it is. Its just your average mild setup.

Fuel & Ignition:
Bosch 044 Inline
-8AN Feed Line
-6AN Return Line
RC 960cc Injectors
Jaz 8 Gallon Fuel Cell
Aeromotive FPR

Head:
Fully ported head
Bronze guides
SS Valves
HKS 272 Cams
SuperTech dual springs w/ tit. retainers

Block:
Stock Crank
1g Rods w/ 2G Pistons
ARP Headstuds
Mitsubishi MLS Headgasket

Turbo, Intake, & Exhaust
Holset HX35w
Slowboy Racing Front Mount Intercooler
1g BOV(Dodge Modded)
Custom 4" Intake
Evo 3 Manifold(Ported)
AMS 3" O2 Housing
Custom 3" Exhaust w/ Cutout

Electronics & Gauges:
Dsmlink
LM-1 Wideband
HKS EVC III (Electronic Boost Controller)
2g MAS

Drivetrain:
Act 2600 Clutch
Act StreetLite Flywheel
Prothane mounts
KYB GR-2 Struts
Sprint Springs
Crossdrilled Rotors

I originally had a built eagle on ross motor with a 35R but the motor blew. Rebuilt with a 1g/2g combo to save money and get her back up. Put a holset on since their a cheap good sized turbo and buttoned her all up. Recently I parted out the entire car but Im kinda getting the bug back. But I'll be doing something difference when I come back.

Im going to do the first AWD turbo 7g galant in the states. If you looking for a 1g Link setup let me know. wink.gif I still have mines and I'll give it to ya cheap since it might not work in the galant depending upon the year I can find.(7g galant 94&95 obd1 96&98 obd2)

Sure sounds like it. 10's with the hx35 on 960's? Some driver, I haven't been to the track once. And thanks for that offer on link, but I already have =/... how cheap are we talking anyway...?

I think a punishment o2 housing and TiAL external wastegate will be going in this Saturday. I'll port the 14b even more, I'm not feeling ready to step up to the Holset just yet (this is stock longblock so I don't want the head lifting and blowing a headgasket). The 14b wastegate actuator's vacuum line runs right into my intake pipe so it gets kinked and I can't control boost, so I'll just go external since I have the parts already.

Also looking into meth/water injection........ but i'd still need some kind of rebuild on the stock block to take more boost/timing.

Gimme some inside tips Lasthope, i wanna run 12's on the 14b =)

Meth/water is the way to go to matter how you look at it. Allows you to run more boost, Increases the detonation threshold of any type of fuel you use and drops down the temp in intake charges so its more denser and cooler. Also theres that nice effect of steam cleaning the pistons and valves.

You vaccum line i is supposed to be on the turbo elbow not the intake pipe but i can see your fine and on the jpipe. Did you check if it was stuck? They do get seized

Get Headstuds. You will need them and you dont have to pull the head to do them. Theres a way to do them one by one. Stock headstuds lift at 20psi.

I already ran 12 before on the 14b. Its really easy. You dont really need much of anything. You've got link, injectors, fmic, pump, afpr and clutch. Thats all the supporting mods you really need. Dont put a vacuum line on the wastegate at all or just weld it shut.(thats what i did cause it kept blowing open on me.) All thats really left is the tune. Max out all the timing sliders in link in off boost and gradually drop it down when boost is building up. You want to run your timing around 21-22 degrees. Fuel wise you will want to run really lean off boost again and as it climbs gradually give fuel and tune to 11.1-11.2. My boost was spiking to 24-25psi and settling down to 18psi on the top end.

This is a pretty agressive way of tuning but then again thats how I like to tune. No sure if it suits your style. Launch was set to 4500rpm. Tire pressure was 18lbs on street tires. Preloading the drive train on the launch and shifting at 7300-7400 and your good to go. On the top end leave it in 3rd and top out before you even think about shifting cause shifting into 4th the last minute and kill your ET times.(14bs run out of breath around 65-6700rpm so its not befinical to rev that much over it since its not making anymore power and airflow drops like crazy. Short shifting around 7300rpm is like a happy medium since you dont want to rev any higher cause you wont be making any power but you dont want to go lower cause then the revs in the next gear will be down.

FYI stock springs will handle 8500rpm shifts without floating. Ive taken it to 9k a few times with no problems. But I dont recommend it. Thats why i got the dual springs(way before kiggley came out with his)

Also Im looking to get rid of the link for $410 shipped. Iono. You'll see it on the dsm boards.
