A couple days ago, I was on my way to work and a car flashed their lights at me. At first, I thought that he was telling me to turn on my headlights but I checked and they were already on. Seconds later, I realized that the driver was warning me that a cop was nearby. Shortly after, I saw a cop hiding behind a truck and had the radar gun looking for speeders.

I was just wondering if you guys warn other drivers when a cop is in the area?

no, no one has ever done that to me before at least. i usually know where the cops hide.
always the same place and around the same time. i did honk at my friend who was driving
in front of me once (this was like at 4 in the morning) and the cop was traveling in the
opposite direction pulled a u and followed us.

but no, i don't warn others.

i used to see people doing that often ..but not anymore
so i guess people dont care enough down here haha

Yup always, people usually do it to me so I try to help out as much as possible. One time this guy thought I was doing it on purpose so he kept flashing me back and as he passes me I can see him look at me as I shake my head. Hah, 15 seconds later I see the lights go up.

i have never seen that before. i've seen people high beam people for going too slow though. lol.

I've been flashed once and I'd thank the guy that did.

i've never heard of this till now, most of the time i get flashed for people who think im driving too slow

That happened to me a few times so I flash my headlights when I see a cop.

In canyons, it happens. Never seen it on local or freeways

I don't drive, but I've noticed it when I'm in the car with my dad.

I remember people from Florida doing this all the time. After moving to CA, no one else does it. Californians are always slow to catch on.

No.. never heard that before but i've heard that people do that to you when you're changing lanes and they're telling you that it's okay to change into their lane.

Orrr maybe Californians have done it so much that they don't care anymore.
Locally, no, but on the highways when there's CHP around, I've been flashed by other motorists.

The only time i ever flash my headlights is when I am driving in a neighbor hood and the street has a sharp turn and its very easy to get into an accident, so if there are people on the other side of the turn they know not to drive on my lane because its easier for them to turn because they think they are the only ones on the road at the time. I have seen it happen, so I won't take the chance.

only time I've ever flashed headlights is when I needed to pass but the car in front of me was going too slow.
