I am 21 this yr.
Most of my friends are past the "idol" stage in life.
I am the only one still stuck in the 'idol' stage.
Although i don't buy their albums, scream whenever they appear , travel to other country to watch their concert.
But i watch videos of certain singer cos i like them n think they r handsome
My friends keep telling me to 'grow up' and say adults like us shouldn't be having crushes on idols as we r not young anymore.
So now, i don't tell ppl i met that i like certain pop singer or grp.

soompi, by itself, has a really big age range. there are kids of 9 or 10, to people in their 70's or more--and yes, they have 'idols'. It's common for the male stars (singers or actors, or those that do both) to have
uncountable 'older' fans. Bae Yong Jun is one of those people. Ryu Shiwon is another--they both also have huge followings of ladies in their mid-fifties to infinite. They go to the concerts, appearances, fanmeetings--and do everything else a younger fan might do. I have an auntie friend that is in her 50's who not only heads our own board for a certain actor--but she's met him a bunch of times, and he knows her and has a lot of respect for her. I'd hate to be in the room when someone tells her she's too old to have 'idols', or that she should grow up.

When my friends (in their 20's and 30's--I'm the oldest in the group, but younger than my auntie friend--) go to a certain groups concerts--in Korea, or Japan, where they also perform and record--they are surrounded by many older women. In some of the concerts on DVD, you can see them clearly. It's the same anywhere they go--and like I said, it's the same with most male performers. (not sure about the girls, but they always have older male fans too.)
this thread was started a few years ago, and you can see people are still posting in it--check it out.. ^^; You'll see your far far from alone.
