Okay, so my computer officially died last night and I've decided to get myself a laptop.
I have an extremely small budget of $500. (I pay half and my mom pays the other half.)
I did some googling, found some laptops, but I'm totally clueless on what's fit for me.
I don't understand a lot of the specifications and features the laptops comes with.
All I want is a reliable laptop that has a good memory storage, Windows Office, and works fast with both the internet and gaming.
Is the Toshiba Satellite L300-ST2501 any good? What about the Asus eeePC?
Anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Depends on what your needs are. One is a netbook (the Asus), the other is not. Personally I'd go for the Toshiba, as it's a more powerful machine and I have no need for some tiny thing that doesn't have as much processing power.
On the other hand, the Asus is smaller and lighter, and if you're not gonna do anything beyond websurfing and emailing, then it's not a bad choice. Considering its size, it's very portable and easy to carry around.
However, since you mentioned gaming... I think the Toshiba would be a better choice for you.
