Hmmmmmmmmmm, so I was watching You are My Destiny the other day and there was this one part where the main character guy cooked his mum food that she fed him when he was a kid. Its double special also because the mum ate it when she was a kid and her mom fed it to her.
So.... you should serve them food that they fed you when you were a kid and be like, "Ah, this dish is special to me because you fed it to me when I was little" hohohoho
just my two cents.

What background are you? I'll say make something from your own ethnicity? Cause if they're anything like my relatives, they hate foreign food~ And my parents seem to think I'm very white washed just because I happen to not really like most Chinese food.
If you're Chinese I recommend Cantonese steamed fish! Those are so easy to make but it's one of my favorite things to eat EVER!!!

I baked a strawberry shortcake for my mom on mother's day, and it was pretty darn good. Lol. It just took a long time to prepare, and it wasn't much of a surprise considering she was right there.....watching me bake it......hahah. But websites like...... www.foodnetwork.com or www.allrecipes.com have good recipes along with very helpful reviews!! ^^
