I was wondering if it would be too late to learn piano when I hit 18. I used to play, but only because I was forced to learn, which made me grow a distaste for it, but now I want to learn because of my own reasons. Living under my parent's roof though, I don't have much freedom yet and was hoping I'd learn to play while I was in college. I know that I won't develop the dexterity and nimbleness that I would've if I had started when I was younger, but it wouldn't be a vain attempt to learn if I do right?

You can learn anything at anytime bro.
I won't bother since I won't read the rules and they won't accommodate.

i started learning the guitar when i was 22 with a slight disability with my left hand, so nope it's never too late. it does however depend on how determined you are.

I'm a Final Fantasy fan, and I love Nobuo's songs especially when they're on piano. That's my main motivation =).

It's never too late to learn how to play, although it might be a bit harder.
... Or that could just be me based on experience.

It might actually be easier. I'm not sure.
I started later than all my piano playing friends and I have caught up/surpassed them.

No! It's never too late if you really want to do something!
I'm 22 and I also want to learn how to play piano again.
I actually know how to play, I'm a widow-player, but I don't know how to read notes and transcribe notes T_T

No, of course not! I thought I was a little too late too. I'm 16. I started playing back when I was 13 or so but I stopped. So now I'm starting again smile.gif

Yea same, every song I've played was just based on memory of whatever my dad pressed down on the piano.

So I would like to ask you guys where I should start. I haven't really done much except for playing that stuff out of the Alfred's Blah Blah book, and I didn't do any of the music theory. I've also noticed that I don't give notes their correct values anymore, rather I try to emulate the way it sounds in the song. Thanks.

Nah, it's never too late.
My godfather started learning in his 70s, and he was using the Alfred's series too. smile.gif
