My boyfriend is a little older than me. Like two years. (I'm 15, he's 17) Anyway, my parents are always uptight about it. They think he's too old for me. It's not like he's some creepy pediphile. I've known him for a VERY long time, and we've only been going out for this past year. Though I've known him since Jr.High as a close friend.

But how old is too old? Is the age difference between me and my boyfriend too big?

Anyway, also discuss:Age differences in general. Your opinion on them, and what you think of them.

Honestly, I don't think a two year age difference is that much.
On Star King, there was a couple with an 18 year old age difference. 18 years old might be a little too much of an age difference!
In my honest opinion, I think if you have an age difference of ten years or more, that is too old -.-
But then again, you know what they say: "Age is just a number~"

i think 8 years or more tends to be quite a difference. its not just about age difference but how young the younger person, say a 12 year old dated a 20 year old (8 years age) thats just kind of bizarre but a 28 year old dating a 36 year old doesn't seem out of the ordinary even though its same 8 year gap.

You're only 15, so of course your parents are going to think that way, imo.

For me, I don't know. The oldest person to ever show interest in me was like 40 years old. I'm only 20, so it was like... Ehh... Creepy creepy creepy for me :| Otherwise, 3-6 years is the best - at least for me it is :x

the biggest difference, to me personally, i think should be between 1-3 years.
other than that, i think it's too big of a difference.

except for me and g-dragon. 6 years apart but a girl can dream! smile.gif

I think after you hit 20 , age diffence doesnt really matter . Cuz after that you are both pretty mature by then . but in your situation I wouldnt find it a big deal at all

2 years is fine for people under 19, and when you're 21+ you can be from 2-6 years, imo.

lol awww aha thats not a big difference (:
my parents think that is good for one to be older . they think same age marriage wont work out cause both are the same and experiencing sort of the same things [older more experienced ?] but yah haha my mom is older than my dad by 8 years

to me i used to think 4 years older is the max oldest i would go out with . but now . age is just a number so i dont really care but i think a big gap is too old like 10?

Hmmm, I think the age difference can be bigger as you get older. If you are in your late teens, it will be more appropriate to hang out with people around the same age. But as you get older to, say, 30s, then I think it's ok for the age difference to be as much as 10yrs, coz two mature people in their 30s and 40s should still be a match, as long as one is not old enough to be the other's parent.

When you're younger, even a couple of years can seem like a huge difference. I think as long as he's not into his 20s, you're fine.

Honestly, I think your difference is nothing at all and pretty suitable.
