I have little scabs of skin on my scalp that itch, but I don't have flakes so I am not sure if I have dandruff. What could this be?
Theyre like little dots that bump up, and I constanly pick them because they itch and they just easily come off...
I'm pretty sure I dont have lice, and I dont really have a problem with dandruff either, I only get flakes if I itch my scalp a lot ;x

Does anyone have the same problem?
I find myself always picking at my scalp..at school, while watching tv, its become like a freaking habit ..I just have these random scabs on my scalp that come from nowhere and even when I pick them all off, they come back again the next day.
Do you know how I can stop this without seeing a doctor?

Why would you not want to see a doctor? W/o looking at it could be a staph infection folliculitis . Any pus? Could also be due to fungal. No one can make a dx over the internet though.
I'm that a**hole you paged at 3am for a surgery consult about a pt. in the ER complaining of abdominal pain

WOAH

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAD THIS HABIT. Hahaha feels great to have someone that shares the same issue as me..in a good way?

I don't really have a solution since I've been doing this for the past several years.. it'd be great if someone had one though.

i dont have a habit of picking at my scalp. i had a scalp problem when i was little in the 6th grade. it used to be right on the back of my head. i dont know how to came about because i m clean even as a child i was very clean. it was really itchy (it was not lice), i had scabs that i would pick at until they came off then it just exposed my skin and it burned, so finally after much unsuccessful trials of chinese ointments, i finally asked my doctor about it. i dont remember what it was but he prescribed this bottle of liquid to me and 2 weeks later, it was all gone.

whats wrong with seeing a doctor? its the easiest way to find out whats wrong with the body.

Not sure if I have the same problem as you? But I used to scratch my scalp a lot and it was itchy to the point that it would bleed? And then it would heal and I'd just scratch it again >_<
LOL! it's not like I was DIGGING into my skin but ya... basically my scalp was itchy =X
It was only for a short period tho and when I got to get my haircut, my mom noticed and made me go try different shampoo.

I started using this Head and Shoulder one that's specifically meant for dry and itchy scalps =) It worked pretty well and now I dont' scratch myself anymore haha XP

^ I was going to suggest Head and Shoulders too.

It can be soap that gets left behind wen you shower and it builds up?

It might be psoriasis.

Whether it is or not, the easiest way to get rid of it is probably go to a doctor and see what he/she recommends.

Oh, when I was around 9 years old, I had the same exact thing. I had to use Selsun blue, the red medicated one. Well, I picked on the scabs too, because I was really bored, and sometimes I just itched at it sooooo long, my head started getting covered with more blood covered scabs, lmao. So yea, my docter told me to use Selsun Blue, but I didnt have the flakes either. So after I used Selsun Blue, the scabs went away in like 3 weeks, more or less, it's hard to remember. Hope this helps ^^

You can get Selsun Blue in the aisle with the shampoo and conditioner ;D
Good luck my fellow head scab itcher xD

stop picking at it and let it heal itself (if it's just scabs).

cause if you're picking at it, you're just recreating the scab.

DON'T PICK AT IT!! seriously. xD
it will end up as dandruff.

it happened to me @_@ in 6th grade i lovedd having scabs on my head cause I liked picking at it. I PURPOSELY created scabs on my head but then, unfortunately, it turned into dandruff :/ and it hasn't gone away since. :/

Eczema or Psoriasis....

You need to drink more water, also u may be allergic to perfumn products.
What's wrong with seeing the doctor? .. They can provide u lotion to put on ur hair. And it be healed in 1 week.

It sounds like psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis, if the "scabs" have a white-ish or silvery sheen then it's likely to be psoriasis and if they are yellow and oily then it might be dermatitis.
If it's not very serious then using tea tree oil or salicylic acid in your shampoo might help, otherwise you should see if your doctor can prescribe you some topical steroids or something.

sometimes this can be the cause from having "ECZEMA"
its kind of like a form of rash that certain people have because of sensitive skin, and its heredity.
it can show up on sensitive or hairy areas. i don't know if you have that or not so i suggest you go
see your dermatologist or your doctor.
