If you're looking for an mp3 player right at this moment, and cost was not a factor, how much memory would be suitable for you? It could possibly be a multimedia player to include music, videos, and pictures.

For me, I'd say around 40 gb is enough for me at the moment. I used to watch quite a bit of videos, like mvs or performances, but now I usually stick strictly to music and I download full albums.

When I first wanted to get a new MP3,I thought 2GB would be enough.
But now,I think I need even more.Maybe at least 8GB..

60gb or bigger... it's not just for my songs and video, I use it as an external harddrive too. it's convenient that way. smile.gif

I have the 4GB Samsung P2 and I think that's a ton of space.

IMO, those mp3 players with 40GB+ is just uneccessary.

Assuming that the average song is 5 MBs large, that's 8,000 songs for 40 GBs.
Also, assuming 1 MB is an equivalent to 1 minute, you'd have to keep your mp3 player on for 27.7 days straight before you listen to every song on your player.

My first mp3 was a 30gb Creative Zen. I found 30gb to be way too much space for music. The one I'm using now is a 4gb Sony Walkman. It's a bit small so I'm hoping to get an 8gb or 16gb Samsung P3.

I think 8gb is enough for me personally.

Convenient yes, but an external HDD for me would probably be around 500 gb for all the movies I've got.

I have a 32GB iTouch and it's almost full,
but I don't think I have a need for that much memory, I could settle with 8GB.
The only reason why I got it is cause when I bought it there wasn't 8GB or 16GB model and I would have to wait for three weeks for them to get it. :/

My first MP3 player was a 30gb ipod, but that filled quickly so I got an 80gb ipod. Now my 80gb ipod is just about full so im thinking of getting the 120gb ipod soon. I listen to way to much music laugh.gif lol.

I store them in CDs. I don't have much use of storing them in my player all the time. I store only songs and videos that I would want to listen/watch all the time. I like to use my player as a storage for my Photoshop resources which I use a lot. smile.gif

6-8gb is enough for me for music only... my first mp3 player was only 2.5gb and that filled up fast at the time.

My mp3 player is 4gb (Sansa Fuze).
The thing is, I don't need every song I've never listened to on my mp3 player. Just the few core songs (around 150ish) that I currently "want" to listen to at this moment. I hate making playlists and organizing my player, so I just like to hit "Play All" and then just go through them as they come up.

I probably have something like 50-60gb dedicated of music on my external HD, so if I was to put every single song that I own/have on my mp3 player, that's probably how big it'd have to be.

Although recently I'm getting into audiobooks, and they're big.

I have a few friends that do this. I always thought of doing it, but I never know what I'll feel like listening to at a specific moment, so I just keep everything on my mp3 player. It just seems easier that way.

20-40 gb is good for me but i'd need treble that if i was going to own it for awhile since i'd constantly add to it (i watch more videos than music probably). i used to have a 80gb ipod classic but that broke..fun stuff.. a lot of mp3 players out there esp. ipod's advertise that it can store up to that amount of memory but in reality the more you store the more likely it is to come across problems and break.

To me, there's no such thing as too much memory.

For strictly music, 1TB.
If I can include videos, movies and all of that, 1PB. ;]

Right now, I have a 32 GB itouch, and even that isn't enough for me.
I had to delete some movies and shows off of it =(
I don't have an ideal amount of memory because it will keep growing, LOL. So endless?
