hey guys, i make home made pat bing soo (and i'm pretty sure some of you do too). i've been buying the red bean stuff (the main ingredient) in the cans, and since i never get to use the entire thing once i open a new can, i cover the top with either foil or plastic wrap.
my question is, is this okay to do - will it preserve it well? the longest i've kept the can like that was for a week.
what are some better methods to preserving opened red bean cans?

i buy the japanese brand, so even if they have directions to preserving it, i can't understand it.

here's an idea of the can that i am talking about. it's not 'paste',
because in it there are beans in its original form

help is much appreciated

Well, my mom buys red pean paste from bakeries so it comes in a bag. But I know she puts it into a container and sticks it in the freezer. But from a can I don't know how long it can last :/

i think you freeze it as well.

although i don't think it lasts TOOOOO long in the freezer.
i'm not too sure though.

You shouldn't leave it in the can at all. 'cause it can rust in the refrigerator.
Best thing you can do is, but it into a plastic container than freeze it. It should last about 6 months in the freezer.
