I originally had a Sony Cybershot DSC-S40...but I'm convinced that Canon dicas are better, so I returned my Sony and now I'm looking for a new dica.
I just can't choose between these two.
Canon Powershot SD400 or Canon Powershot A520..
I know there's a price difference between these two models..but still; from your knowledge, which one do you think I should get??
(the SD400 is almost $100 more than the A520)

What I want in a dica:
Nice, clear shots
Picture control
Easy point and shoot picture taking...

..I'm not even asking for much...

"Big or small" choose. One uses compact flash (bigger) and one uses SD cards (smaller) and the smaller one has 1 more megapixel.. which doesn't do crap..at all.. so it's really up to preference on price and feel.

OK..I actually prefer the "look" of the SD400...but I'm really just looking for the camera that is capable of taking better pictures...I know, wtf?..but really..call me an idiot, but I'm not all that into dicas and so I don't know much...I just want some opinions..one or the other.

Agreed on the portability. I've had both and the compact SD is just easier to carry around, stuff it in your backpocket.

But it all comes down to what you really want out of the camera and whether or not the extra 100$ is worth it.

Then just get the SD400 if price isn't an issue. I really don't care too much about portability personally so that normally doesn't play too large of a role in my searching.

the 400 is the best. a lot of people buy it at cc and are happy with it. read customer reviews at circuitcity.com

Or how about a Canon Powershot SD450? I really want that camera. My friend has the 400, and it's so much better than my current camera. But, it's a tad heavier than my current one. It has some pretty cool features, and the pictures come out really clear.

i was going to get the sd400, but got the 450 instead. anyway, the design is really nice, the size is nice, too.
i heard those powershots are pretty heavy, but if that's okay with you ^^

why not go for the sd450? i think its the same as the sd400 but it has a 2.5" lcd instead of just 2"

i heard the a510 has slowshutter, so you mostly get blurry pics. i heard so much complaints about it..
