I really need to take summer school classes, but I would like to work over the summer too.
I wouldn't consider taking one if it wasn't for summer school because I would rather attend a real class.
But since I've never taken an online course, I'm curious.
For those who have taken online courses at your college, how would you compare it to a regular class?
How does it work? As in... do you only take quizzes/tests online?
Is it generally easier to take classes online?

I took 3 online courses while having a full time job over the summer and I got all A's easily. You just read the book, do the quizzes and discussions. My tests were also online. I think online courses are easy, but then I took them at a community college so they were way easier compared to the classes at my university.

ive taken a few online courses. sometime it can depend on it being easy or hard depending on the teacher and class. it can be really convenient not having to go to class but just checking online everynow and then. but for me i had to do a lot of reading and do a couple of posts and respond to posts in a discussion board, had to do assignments and turn them in either through email or post it on the website, had to take weekely or chapter quizzes, and do essay papers. the key is if you can manage your time and be able to put aside time for assignments, reading, and taking tests then you should be fine. just dont slack off or else everything can just snowball (tons of reading and catching up) and remember about due dates..i often found myself forgetting about assignments and either missing them or trying to do them last minute right before the time they were due
Always know if the juice is worth the squeeze

In my online courses, the assignments were online, but some courses require that you go to school to hand it in a drop-off box. However, most online courses at my school don't have assignments; your mark is soley based on your term tests and final exam grade. I find that watching lectures and taking notes online is easier, since you can pause and go back, and watch it as many times as you want - you can take better notes. My school used to take down the lecture after a week, but they find that students can download the video, so they decided to leave the video up all semester long... but you have to make sure you watch the lectures on time, and not leave all of them till the last minute!
