Like... occasionally when I eat, I get gurgling sounds in my throat (as opposed to burping... which rarely happens to me) and acidic gas comes up from my stomach to my esophagus and yeah. It usually stops at that point and then dies down but on the more severe days (i.e. when my hormones are high, when I'm stressed/sleep-deprived, when I don't eat the right food), it progresses into intenseee nausea. And the only way to get rid of that is to throw up everything I ate. That stops everything and makes me feel better instantly.
So I've done a lot of research online on my part and I don't exactly know what it is that's wrong with me, haha. I know this would sound like a stupid excuse but my family can't afford doctor appts right now... especially in America where treatments are really expensive without health insurance. Also my mom has this problem too (but less severe than me and much less frequent) so she doesn't think it's that serious. But these incidences have been increasing in intensity for me... like during ovulation period it happens every night which means that I need to throw up all my food each night.
But I do know that most foods make me do this. THey are: soy products, excess of dairy products, fast food, meat in general, acidic food. If I have TINY portions of them... like 1-2 bites or sips, then I'm fine but more than that gets me sick eventually. Also, I can eat any of those foods for breakfast and it's fine... but lunch or mostly dinner is what makes me sick. It's annoying because I can't hang out with friends when it happens... it's embarrassing when weird sounds come from your throat haha not even your stomach. And throwing up makes me cry
The symptoms seem like acid reflux, except I don't get heartburn at all. It doesn't seem like GERD because I don't feel choked, nor do I cough. I know I'm not bulimic because I love food & embrace who I am, haha. So I'm confused...
Anyone in the same/similar situation as me? Have you gone to a doctor and gotten a diagnosis or anything? Is it life-threatening? I'd love to hear how you're coping, other than avoiding the foods that you LOVE... *stares longingly at Korean BBQ*
THANKS for your input!
