Now I have some troublesome news...

See, one thing great about being a SNSD fan is that there is an incredible amount of pictures and videos available. Would you say we are stealing these pictures from SM? The law says they belong to SM...

Now Korea is pissing me off. They are planning to crack down on people with these pics/vids in Korea in July. You cannot post pics or vids of celebrities. You cannot capture anything from tv. No posting of parodies, no covers of songs are allowed. Can you believe this absurdity?

Korean fans are starting to delete files on blogs and posts. Fancammers are closing down their sites. If the crackdown is real we are going to lose all source of our SNSD pics/vids. Well the whole kpop is doomed.

I hope this just ends up being a scare tactic and not a real crackdown, I hope I'm overreacting and nothing significant actually happens. This law is so ridiculous that Korean netizens are just confused and dumbfounded. Sorry for ranting and giving you gloomy news but Korean government SUCKS. I know copyright is important but there are other ways of tackling this issue than shoving a brute force crackdown down our throat

I'm getting really angry and frustrated at this, what are they thinking just banning and setting a random law which have helped a lot of artists to gain fans and listen to their music and also being able to alow artists to do asia tours! Did they write the reason til why they are doing this? Like if they have a good reason that will make u at least understand if it was a big reason but just randomly posting that they are going to set up a law suddenly from nowhere at 23 july is just absurd after so long years!!! And I also want to know what SM entertaintment says, who is under the reconstruction of this law? Can someone post it? Aish, anyway can't read korean so forget it but it's just so stupid. If the music industry are against it that maby would help since internet is a big resource for getting fans and the companies must have realised until now that foreigners is bond to uploaded videos, pictures and file sharing, and helped them to do asia tours being fan through the internet!!! To have several sites about snds or suju, like ALL k-pop artists is good because their gaining popularity outsea and even inside. This is just ridiculous, To reduce the chance of korean celebrities gaining fans through the internet and other stuff is just evil preventing them from uploading and do copyright!!! Just a un smart move from korea, hope that they will change their minds because it's not only foreign fans, also korean who has fan sites and posting ten thousands of things! I really hope korea will change their minds! Hope that someone doesn't go captured or being fronted, that's just terrible

if the photos, videos and/or music were created or published by SM entertainment then, yes, copyright law is on their side. as an example, SM Entertainment owns the copyright to the teaser for Genie. capturing anything from television is not a violation of copyright; distribution of that recording is, however, a problem. with respect to parodies and cover songs created by fans it's a grey area because SM Entertainment has to show how such media adversely affects them. enforcing copyright can be rather expensive and time consuming. SM Entertainment will likely, if ever, target mass distributors of their copyrighted material.

copyright law will give SM Entertainment the right of law to pursue violators; it does not mean, however, they will automatically launch legal action against every single instance of copyright violation.
