That MR Removed video really made me curious. If MR removed videos are suppose to take out all the background, pre-recorded vocals to show what the singer is actually singing...then how come "I'm Genie for..." parts weren't edited out? From what I can tell, no one was singing it - especially since some of those parts they have their arms up in the air. It just makes me question the validity of how much MR removed videos actually remove the pre-recorded stuff.

Of course, this is not me doubting that the girls sang live, because they sure did and they did great. It's just a little funny.

And to make this post more SNSD-related. I liked the Music Core performance, but definitely preferred Music Bank. I couldn't really hear the girls singing for some of the individual part in the Genie music core performance. Etude ... I liked the performance but still not 100% sold on the song just yet (I still don't like the intro x___X)

oh and LOL @ Yoong flipping Fany's skirt.

Looking forward to the third performance tonight!!

Don't quote me on this, but I think the MR process is done by muting/lowering certain frequencies. The human voice encompasses a certain range of that so that's why you hear "I'm Genie for your..." because the MR-ing process filters beats/synths/instruments leaving behind anything that sounds like a voice. I think another reason why you can still hear the backtrack is because the audio in that certain video wasn't heavily filtered like other MR videos. If I'm wrong, please correct me~ (cuz I might be ^^

^i think MR versions dont completely take out all the pre recorded parts. from stuff i heard before and now, wut it does is enhance the mic volume while minimizing the Inst w/ pre-recorded vocals. This means the main parts where they sing with a vocal to compound or mask the singers voice is taken out, but not the parts that would be featured in the instrumental. a good example would be daras part in fire where an extra synthesized voice is compounded on top of daras vocals. if it was an MR that part would be gone or minimized.

Many people can get confused by these kpop music shows, they are done in a complicated way with all the rehearsals, prerecordings, remixing etc and the fancams confuse people even more. And there is this one issue that often causes a big commotion among fans.

I will post a full explanation later... if I can finish this paper in time
