I've heard from a lot of people that it's much easier to just get the shot once every three months. Since i have problems remembering to take my pills and such, i'm thinking it would probably be good and safer for me to get the shot. I'm taking birth control orally now, do i have to wait or anything before i can get the shot? I wanted to go on friday to ask about it, but i'm not quite sure yet.

I don't know much since i'm not on the pill yet. But in our school's health class, they taught that you shouldn't switch right away.
You need to go off the pill for at least a month or two and have your period regularly after you went off the pill, and let your hormones and stuff adjust back to when you didn't take the pills or anything, that's when you can go on other forms of birth control.
I might not be 100% right. All I know is you have to wait a month or two
It's bad to mix the two because you might think the birth control is out of your system when it's not.

You probably don't have to do a pap smear to get the shot if you don't have to get a pap smear to get pills...anyways, getting a pap smear's not the end of the world!
If you do switch from birth control pills to the shot, do not go more than 7 days without a form of hormonal birth control. I'm pretty sure you can stop pills at any point and and get a shot, or you can wait 7 days for your period and then get the shot. Just don't go more than 7 days without pills so that your protection isn't compromised. I really would not recommend waiting a month for your "natural period" to come because your hormones are going to be all wonky once you get off pills and it might take two, or even more months for your body to adjust and a natural period to come. I don't think you'd want to wait that long. Going straight from pills to a shot would be no problem at all.
