So yeah I am asking this now because I do. They are kinda bumpy, but barely noticeable unless you go up close. I google'd something about it, and it turns out they are called keratosis pilaris. It's sorta like a skin problem, except it's harmless and it's VERYY common among people especially girls. The bad part is that..there is actually no cure for it sad.gif Medical ones anyways. So depending on your case, a little soft scrubbing is all you need if it's not severe.

Apparently it's due to clogged pores or something? Where your body produces excess/too much of this one chemical in your body and those little "chicken skin" dots forms.

Also it's important that you don't scrub too hard because apparently, it irritates them even MORE and your pores will clog even MORE and it will take another month or two for it to settle down the increase of the excess chemical your body is producing o_o

I learned that much from googling. I am jsut curious cuz I personally don't see it on a lot of people but when I ask some of my friends they tell me they have it too.

So does anyone have this? If you do, where do you have them?

I have them on my upper arm, a little on my buttocks, and my thighs ><

I thought I was the only person who got this ohmy.gif
I have it under my arms. The elbowy area!
I just put aloe vera on it to soothe it.
I also kinda get it on my thighs when I'm cold.

I have it on my arms and I had some on my thighs but they are slowly going away. My dad had them on his arms when he was younger and he said they went away as he got older. They're not as bad as they were in high school and maybe my dad was right cause it seems to slowly be going away.
Some say i'm a genius, others say i'm crazy
but they all say i'm a little on the weird side

Same here sleep.gif
Located in my upper arms near my shoulder area. But it never really bothered me, I thought I was just born with it? lol. I get pretty tanned/dark easily so I try to stay away from the sun but, it's inevitable :[

Yup. This problem is genetics. That's the only way you get it. It does go away with age, the question is just, when u_u

& yes, depending on your case, scrubbing it DOES make it worse sad.gif But if it doesn't irritate it, then you can keep gently scrubbing. If it does, you should stop.

Yeah, I have it. Just on my upper arms though. It seems to be more common in Asians. While there is no cure to it, the regimen that I use which works pretty well is just to exfoliate once every 2 days using exfoliating gloves and then apply this lotion called Amlactin. It has alpha-hydroxy acids which is really good for smoothing your skin. While it's not completely gone, my arms do feel a lot smoother now. I would recommend it! My roommate who is an aspiring dermatologist told me about it haha. smile.gif

I used to have that a few fears ago. Luckily it's all gone now... except for a few little bumps. Moisturizer with oatmeal in it helped a lot!

There's about 100 threads of this topic here on soompi already. lol
I also have this on my inner arm.
What I do is I scrub them everynight and put baby oil afterward, preferably one with alovera.
It won't give you an instantaneous effect, and I won't guarantee that it will get rid of everything
since we all have different types of skin. But it definitely works for me.
Just do this every night and after a month or so, you'll notice that your skin will start to smoothen out.
Bad news is, you have to do this for the rest of your life, otherwise it will come back like it did on my arms.
Now I'm back to this routine, about 3 weeks, and my arms are already starting to soften up again.

I also have this in my upper arm and thighs.
And I read somewhere if you scrub that part and put bio oil on it after shower, it will go away.
But it takes time. And the results are much better.

I think scrubbing them would be a bad idea, putting cortisone cream on occasionally before bed seems to really make them go away for me.
