In the US, no one is going to care. Once you hit a certain point it's shared experiences that matter, not a number. =]

Anyways, not sure about in the US, but no problem in Korea.
Not only is it common for guys to go to military service (so you see a lot of ahjusshi types around the campus) but there are a lot of people who go into univ an year or two late for various reasons(such as having lived overseas and repeating an year due to the school term differences).

I know a guy who attended college as a freshman after four years of being in the Marines.

LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST - whether that may be going to school now or going to school later. You know what they say...better late than never.

I just started out as a freshman in college because I wasn't too sure if college was for me. I waited 2 years to make up my mind ( I know, I know) and suddenly started missing school again. I guess I wouldn't know unless I tried right? So, I'm almost 21 by next year and just started college. I don't think its "too old" or a "disadvantage" at all. I know some people who are in their mid-30's and who are still attending college haha. Simply put that thought is false.

If you've committed a crime you think you can BS your way out of, press one.
To report an incident of racial profiling, put down your crack pipe and press two.
If you cannot locate one of your seven, unsupervised, fatherless children, press three.
