I bet most people are organised and are on top of their workload at college or uni, well at least you try to be. But what happens if, due to extreme circumstances, being forgetful or any other excuse, you didn�t hand in your projects, reports, assignments, essays, forms or whatever, etc�on time?

If you have not submitted in your projects/reports/essays/assignments or work placement/any type of application forms, on time at uni or college what�s the consequences?

At my uni marks are deducted to a certain date then it won�t be marked if handed in afterwards.
i've had friends who had to fill one of those "sorry,-but-can-you-please-mark-this-because..." forms.

At my uni, late submission policies vary depending on the unit. The penalties also range from, say 5% off a day for a communications unit with 7 days to hand it in, to 20% off per day for a law unit with 3 days max to hand it in late. Likewise, after the number of days that the unit gives, it won't be marked and you will fail.

Also, we don't have any 'please mark this' forms, so if it's late, it's late. Justifying a late submission (if an extension has not previously been approved) would have to be on extreme grounds.

most of the professors I've had are nice enough to take late papers if you notify them ahead of time and you don't constantly do it. Like the poster above me said, some invoke penalties for everyday you don't turn it in. Nevertheless there are some sticklers who won't accept anything late.

Wow. For 4 years of high school, all my teachers say, "you won't be able to turn it in late in college!"
