What do you guys think of having such a huge a "celebrity" crush? Do you think it's a waste of time and pointless?
The reason why I'm starting this thread is because I want to see your P.O.V on this...hehe. I'm a fan girl
myself, I love TOP and Seungri from Big Bang, but not to the point where I'm so crazy over them like my
other friends. This might sound weird to you some of you, but I actually have a friend who is so crazy over her
celebrity crush that she literally cried over him...*sigh* Poor girl...there's also crazy fan girls who committed
suicides due to crazy celebrity crushes...=/ Sad thing is that they don't even know we exist.
There's nothing wrong with daydreaming and being in your own fantasy land (I do that sometimes, haha)
but having such a HUGE & CRAZY crush (you can even say obsessions?)
and taking it so serious is a little too crazy? Hmm I don't know..so I just wanna
share my thought with the Soompiers here so tell me what you guys think

I obsess over everything DBSK and Shim ChangMin but I will never kill myself over them. That's a little extreme, kind of borders on the psycho side. When it gets to the point of thinking about your crush 24/7 that it affects everything you do I'd say stop before you hurt yourself.

I've never had like a major crush on any celebrity.
Like I see they are cute/hot and I'll read news on them but I don't say like I want to "marry" them or whatever.
I always found those people kinda weird..=A=;;;

^I totally agree with you. I never had a huge obsession with one artist. It varies sometimes, i like all of them to be exact. One thing for sure is that i feel sorry sometimes for fan who get worked up and wrote this really long essay on why their artist is the greatest artist in the world. One thing i hate is how they can't seem face the fact tht their artist is not what they potray on tv. Oh, i remember about this one thread in soompi about this one girl who has undying love for dbsk junsu or changmin. She was a total maniac, saying tht she need to see his face every single day. Saying how she couldn't find a bf. I'm sorry but there are limit to liking one person.

I have to agree with the two posts above. I would never call mine an obsession. Of course there are times when I get fangirl-y, but never to the point of having to declare my undying love for them. That's just extreme -- or maybe it's just not in my personality. Or maybe it's because I'm much older now. LOL. It's okay to have crushes on them. Why not? They're irresistibly hot and sexy! Having a celebrity crush shouldn't affect your life. Some girls set their standards too high when it comes to finding a boyfriend. Remember, not all of us are going to marry some Jaejoong or TOP look-alike. Get real, girls. <3

well, i think theres nothing wrong whether you're an obsessed fan of something. but yeah,dont be childish (to all) its just, not only you.. well, some people are like that, they tell that "I am the only one who loves that~~" blah blah..well, there are many fans of some idols right? me, i really like Donghae of Super Junior, and i'm happy that there are someones who also likes him.. thats my point..

She cried over some music video that he was in .. I feel so sorry for her, although I
did told her that having a celebrity crush is a slim chance of being "together", because
the fan is already in deep love with the celebrity without knowing their personalities...

going around but Hyori is pretty...I'd be mad if he kissed someone that wasn't all

i'll usually only do some research as in find out their general info like birthdays and hobbies and all that stuff as i get interested listening to a new artist. it's kind of annoying when fans say that this celeb is their husband or wife. makes it a little awkward too..haha

Obsessions... are bad. If a 'celebrity crush' gets in the way of your normal life, then it's probably time to stop googling them. Sometimes fangirls cry when they see their idols with another chick, and then threaten to kill her, that's... way too much. Let's face it, these idols don't know you, and will never be with you. But it's all fine to like, daydream about really good looking celebrities, but crazy fangirlies need to get hold of reality once in awhile.

haha. i think fans who commit suicide for people who don't know them or even seen their faces before are crazy.
i used to daydream about Big Bang a whole lot but I stopped thinking about them after liking someone I've actually met before. The craziest I've went I guess is doodling all over my notebooks "I love Big Bang! VIP!" with hearts and other junk.

Mmm, there's a point where you have to stand back and realize who you're worshiping is not real. Sure, you have their pictures and videos (and maybe address...), but the person in front of the camera is not who they truly are. So, you know, all that time you're dedicating to them is wasted on a fake person.

Meh, I'm a fan girl too, but not crazy obsessive. I haven't seen any of those crazy obsessive girls yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm the craziest when it comes to my friends. Like, the usual screaming, weeping, jumping, drooling... ah. I don't think it's a waste of time or anything, it's just something some people like doing or obsess over. Now... those that commit suicide, take a rain check. They died over some artist that will never know who you are, and the fact that they're just behind a camera. Obviously, I know better than to worship them. It's more of admiration and something that provides my daily entertainment. Nothing more. But gosh dang, some guys are way to gorgeous to seem normal.
